Senior Consultant: Finance Transformation, Consulting, Finance and/or Audit

Financial Accounting Advisory Services professionals provide advisory and assurance services to a wide range of  clients across the banking, insurance and asset management sectors covering a broad spectrum of services in finance function transformation, technology and digital transformation of the finance function, consolidated reporting, accounting advisory support across IFRS, Swiss statutory and regulatory accounting bases as well as optimization of financial processes and internal controls.

Your key responsibilities

• As an experienced Finance, Accounting and/or Audit professional, advise Financial Services clients on complex Finance, accounting, reporting and regulatory challenges, translating them into practical transformation solutions
• Take ownership of workstreams transforming Finance functions, end-to-end business processes, reporting and operating models, balancing effectiveness, efficiency and control
• Bring an AI mindset and practical understanding of AI use cases across Finance, helping clients identify, prioritize and apply relevant use cases to improve processes, reporting, insights and decision-making, while considering their integration into Finance processes and controls 
• Support clients in implementing new accounting and reporting requirements and translating them into effective processes, systems and controls
• Play an active role in Finance and ERP-enabled transformation projects, connecting Finance requirements with technology, data and controls and providing an independent perspective on design decisions, implementation readiness and Finance risks
• Contribute to business development, proposals and client relationships, while expanding your network across EY and the Swiss Financial Services market
• Coach junior colleagues and actively share your Finance, accounting and transformation knowledge to continuously strengthen our team

What we look for

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related discipline; a relevant professional qualification is an advantage
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in Audit, Finance, Consulting and/or Finance Transformation, preferably within Financial Services
• Practical understanding of core Finance processes such as Record-to-Report, financial close, consolidation and group reporting, management reporting, reconciliations and related internal controls
• Experience across Finance process optimization, operating models, ERP, reporting, automation or broader Finance Transformation initiatives, supported by a strong accounting and financial reporting foundation
• Practical understanding of AI and emerging Finance technologies, with the ability to identify and apply relevant use cases across the Finance function
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder-management capabilities, with the ability to independently own transformation workstreams from concept and design through implementation
• Proactive and team-oriented mindset, with the ability to build internal and external relationships; strong communication skills in English and German are a must, French is a plus
