ABOUT THE JOB
Anduril Industries is seeking a Curriculum Developer to join our Training team to support our product operations, mission execution, and maintenance training programs, with a key focus on our Tactical Effects business lines.
This role is critical to scaling internal knowledge, enabling product readiness, educating warfighters and domestic/allied customers, and aligning team capabilities with our mission-driven work. The Curriculum Developer will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), flight test teams, trainers, and engineers across our unmanned systems portfolios to analyze, design, develop, and occasionally deliver training programs. Additionally, you will partner directly with Business Development (BD) to help define and scope training requirements for RFP proposals and new deal-making efforts.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Collaborate with SMEs, flight operators, systems engineers, and product teams across the Tactical Effects business line to identify training requirements and define clear learning outcomes.
- Partner with Business Development (BD) and Capture teams to help define training requirements, build out courses of instruction (COIs), and contribute curriculum scope for RFPs, solicitations, and proposal efforts.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and align training programs with operational military/customer objectives.
- Design and develop curriculum frameworks, course outlines, evaluations, and instructional materials using ADDIE, Kirkpatrick, and other instructional design methodologies.
- Translate complex, technical UAS information; such as autonomous mission planning, ground control interfaces, payload integration, and field-level maintenance, into engaging and digestible learning experiences.
- Create content for blended learning formats including instructor-led training (ILT), e-learning modules, job aids, and hands-on practical flight/field evolutions supporting internal training, Train-the-Trainer (T3) and end-user deliverables.
- Incorporate adult learning theory and industry best practices to drive knowledge retention, tactical operational proficiency, and safety.
- Partner with content creators, flight trainers, and other Training Team members to ensure programs are effectively delivered, flight-line validated, and assessed.
- Maintain version control, documentation standards, and compliance with internal training systems and platforms.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or technical training program management, ideally in a defense, aerospace, robotics, or hardware/software environment.
- Proven ability to partner with technical and operational SMEs (engineers, pilots/operators, maintainers) to extract and organize information into structured learning paths.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design models and frameworks, including ADDIE, SAM, Gagné’s, Merrill’s, and adult learning theories.
- Experience developing training content for diverse modalities (ILT, vILT, eLearning, tactical performance support tools, hands-on field practicals).
- Ability to support the proposal lifecycle by scoping training frameworks and technical deliverables for customer proposals.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly iterating environment.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills with high attention to detail in technical documentation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Direct familiarity with Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS/sUAS), loitering munitions, autonomous robotics, tactical mission payloads, or related military systems.
- Prior experience working with or within the Department of Defense (DoD), military flight operations, or defense-contracting training environments.
- Experience using authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, TechSmith Camtasia, or similar.
- Experience developing effective, learner-centered solutions that go beyond traditional slide-based instruction (e.g., simulator-based training, interactive 3D/AR/VR, blended field-lab environments).
- Understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training tracking tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Technical Communication, Aerospace/Engineering, or related field.
