About the role

Group Fitness Instructor – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness

Why Lakeshore – A Place to Grow, Contribute, and Connect

We lead with our values: Professionalism, Ownership, Team, Quality, and Positivity, and we live them daily. Whether it’s launching a new kids camp, stepping in to assist a family at the front desk, or recognizing a trainer’s impact, we show up with care and high standards. Our facilities are impressive, but it’s our team culture and commitment to a seamless member experience that make this a truly special place to work and grow.

About the Role

We’re looking for dynamic, passionate Group Fitness Instructors to bring energy and expertise to our studios. Whatever your format, from yoga, Pilates, cycling, and barre to HIIT, strength, dance, boxing, aqua, and more, we want instructors who love teaching, connect with members, and deliver exceptional class experiences.

Our members are engaged, our studios are top-tier, and our group fitness team is supportive and collaborative. Whether you teach one format or several, we’d love to see what you bring.

How to Join

All candidates go through an audition process, where you’ll teach a short portion of a class in your format. It’s a chance for us to see your cueing, energy, and style, and for you to get a feel for our studios and community.

What You’ll Do

  • Teach safe, effective, and engaging classes in your area of expertise
  • Plan thoughtful, well-structured class programming
  • Give clear cues, modifications, and progressions for all fitness levels
  • Create a welcoming, motivating environment where members feel supported
  • Build relationships with members and grow a loyal class following
  • Arrive prepared, start and end on time, and keep studios and equipment in great shape
  • Sub classes and support special events, challenges, and new class launches when possible

What You Bring

  • Current group fitness or format-specific certification (AFAA, ACE, NASM, Les Mills, RYT, Pilates, cycling, or equivalent)
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Strong cueing, musicality, and class management skills
  • Energy, professionalism, and a passion for helping people move and feel great
  • Ability to connect with members of all ages and fitness levels
  • Dependability and a strong sense of ownership
  • Availability for early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends
  • Teaching experience preferred; newer instructors with strong potential are encouraged to audition

Pay & Benefits

Pay: $20 – $60 per class, based on experience, certifications, and format. Instructors are paid per class taught.

Part-time team members:
