About the role

Nova Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the planning, integration and delivery of complex Maritime Strike and Munitions capabilities within the Defence environment.

Working alongside Defence, Navy and multidisciplinary technical teams, you’ll play an important role in progressing capability from early planning through integration, testing and delivery. You’ll coordinate project schedules, risks, budgets, commercial activities and Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC), while providing clear reporting and advice to senior stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who enjoys working at the intersection of project delivery, Defence capability, technical integration and commercial management.

What you’ll be involved in

  • Developing and maintaining weapon and capability plans across project management, asset management, engineering, certification, ILS, contracting, sustainment and disposal.
  • Planning and coordinating weapon integration activities across platforms, including schedules, technical risks, dependencies, costs and FIC requirements.
  • Supporting the integration of testing, logistics and other enabling elements required to achieve operational capability.
  • Managing and coordinating project schedules, resources, risks and dependencies across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Supporting financial management activities, including budgets, Additional Estimates and Budget Estimates.
  • Preparing and coordinating monthly reporting, executive briefs, submissions, presentations and Government capability updates.
  • Managing data requests, stakeholder visits, actions and reporting relating to Maritime Strike and Munitions activities.
  • Supporting executive committees and governance forums, including the coordination of actions, reporting and meeting outcomes.
  • Supporting future capability development, including Pre-Gate 0 advice, cost models, execution plans, schedules, risk-reduction studies and stakeholder engagement.
  • Working closely with Navy and Defence stakeholders to support future capability planning and decision-making.
  • Preparing tender and contract documentation, including approval submissions, tender evaluation plans and supporting commercial documentation.
  • Supporting contract management activities, including contract changes, contractor performance management and reporting.

What we would like from you

You’ll bring demonstrated project management experience within a Defence technical environment, with the ability to coordinate competing priorities and work confidently with technical, commercial and senior stakeholders.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects or capability activities.
  • Experience within Defence acquisition, sustainment or capability delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, risk, financial and resource management.
  • Experience coordinating technical integration activities across multidisciplinary teams.
  • An understanding of Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) and their role in achieving operational capability.
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience developing executive briefs, reports, submissions and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with Defence, industry and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting governance forums, executive committees and capability decision points.
  • Commercial and contract management experience, including tender documentation, contract changes and contractor performance management.
  • The ability to take complex technical and project information and turn it into clear, practical advice and reporting.
  • Experience supporting Maritime, weapons, guided munitions or complex Defence capability programs would be highly regarded.
