Promotions Assistant (Part Time)

98 Rock and WBAL NewsRadio are looking for a Promotions Assistant to help execute station events and provide excellent customer service to contest winners and listeners. This is an event-centered position involving the setup and execution of station appearances and remote broadcasts.

The ideal candidate is outgoing, energetic, highly reliable, and has a strong work ethic. The schedule requires availability for very early mornings to support morning-show broadcasts, as well as Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and occasional weekdays, as assigned by station management.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with station representatives, clients, and on-air talent to support high-quality event execution.
• Set up the WBAL NewsRadio and/or 98 Rock booth or tent and interact with attendees. Activities may include handing out promotional items, taking photos and videos, and running games.
• Set up, monitor, and break down remote broadcasts. Help keep broadcasts on schedule, coordinate required on-air elements, and alert station staff to potential content or timing issues.
• Take event photos and videos, write captions, and publish content to station social media accounts.
• Drive the station’s promotional car or van to and from events.
• Enter contest-winner information and related details into station databases.
• Provide excellent customer service to listeners, contest winners, and event attendees by phone, email, and in person.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old; applicants over 21 are preferred.
• Outgoing and comfortable working as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule, including early mornings, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and occasional weekdays.
• Highly organized, with strong customer-service skills.
• Computer literate, with a strong understanding of social media platforms.
• Able to lift at least 30 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and comfort driving and parking a cargo van.
• Event experience is strongly encouraged but not required.
• Familiarity with audio assembly and production.
• Prior experience operating a studio console is preferred.

Salary

The estimated base salary range for this role is between $19.00 - $20.00 per hour. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
