About the role

This is a developing professional role responsible for independently testing major applications within the FX eTrading technology stack. The role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to resolve complex problems and make sound recommendations based on requirements, test results and production data.

The successful candidate will work closely with development, business and Production Support teams to deliver effective testing and improve overall software quality. The role also requires an understanding of how approved AI-assisted tools can be used responsibly to improve test design, automation development, defect analysis and documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Independent Testing & Quality Gating: Deliver comprehensive independent testing and serve as the final quality gate before deploying software changes to production or client environments.
  • End-to-End Test Execution: Design, build, and execute manual and automated test suites across UI, API, and server-side components using risk-based testing to prioritize business-critical paths.
  • Automation Framework Engineering: Develop, maintain, and execute robust functional and non-functional test automation frameworks across the application lifecycle.
  • Static Analysis & Requirements Review: Review technical designs, business requirements, and acceptance criteria early to identify architectural risks, coverage gaps, and testability concerns.
  • Cross-Functional Defect Triage: Collaborate with Development, Product/Business, and Production Support teams to investigate, reproduce, and resolve defects and live incidents.
  • Coverage Metrics & Readiness Reporting: Assist QA leadership in establishing quality benchmarks, monitoring test coverage metrics, and reporting go/no-go release readiness.
  • Continuous Process & Tooling Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, automation practices, CI/CD integration, and QA tooling.
  • Responsible AI Adoption: Utilize approved AI-assisted tools to enhance test analysis, script generation, root-cause investigation, and test documentation.
  • AI Output Validation & Data Protection: Critically review all AI-generated outputs for accuracy, security, and maintainability while strictly protecting confidential, client, and firm data.
  • Risk Management, Governance & Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate testing progress, quality concerns, and delivery risks to technical and business stakeholders while ensuring adherence to regulatory, legal, and internal risk control policies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience & Education: Strong background in software testing/quality engineering (ideally financial services/capital markets) with a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Java & Automation Engineering: Working-level Java development skills with proven experience building, extending, and maintaining robust automated test frameworks.
  • End-to-End Test Execution: Strong test analysis, design, and execution expertise spanning UI, API, and server-side components.
  • Agile, BDD & TDD Practices: Solid background working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams with hands-on knowledge of BDD/TDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, FitNesse).
  • Trading Domain Knowledge (Preferred): Front-office trading familiarity across FX, Rates, or Commodities (pricing, order execution, risk management).
  • Non-Functional & High-Performance Testing: Experience with performance, resilience, and NFT in high-volume, low-latency, and high-availability environments.
  • CI/CD, Unix & Tooling: Proficiency with Linux/Unix, ALM tools (Jira), and CI/CD pipeline integration (Jenkins, TeamCity), with Python scripting as an advantage.
  • Defect Investigation & Root-Cause Analysis: Analytical, detail-oriented approach to investigating complex defects through log parsing, test results, and system behavior analysis.
  • Practical & Responsible GenAI Adoption: Applied knowledge of GenAI/LLM tools to accelerate testing while ensuring output validation, security, privacy, and compliance.
  • Communication & Collaborative Mindset: Proactive, client-focused team player with strong communication skills who constructively challenges requirements and drives quality standards.
