About the role

  • Lead a programme-wide coordination capability supporting the delivery of CoreMod

  • Build and develop a high-performing team, creating clarity across priorities, capacity, coverage and service delivery

  • Work closely with CoreMod leaders and workstreams to continuously improve how coordination services are delivered across the programme

About the business/role/team

The CoreMod Project Coordination (CPC) Team provides programme-wide coordination support across CoreMod, combining workstream-aligned support with specialist services spanning governance, procurement, business operations and knowledge management.

We are looking for an experienced Project Lead to lead the CPC Team and its overall service model. Unlike a traditional technical Project Lead or Project Manager role, this position is primarily focused on people leadership, service management and operational enablement, ensuring the team is effectively prioritised, appropriately resourced and consistently delivering high-quality support across the programme.

You will work closely with the CoreMod Leadership Team, workstream leads, PMO and resource coordination, governance, risk and assurance partners, and procurement partners to understand changing programme priorities and ensure the CPC Team has the capability, capacity and coverage to respond effectively.

About the role

As the CoreMod Project Lead – CPC Team, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop the CPC Team, creating clear expectations, accountability and a supportive environment in which people can perform at their best.
  • Own and continuously improve the CPC Team service model, including workstream-aligned support, specialist services and appropriate lead and backup coverage.
  • Manage programme-wide demand, prioritisation and allocation of work, balancing competing priorities against capability, capacity and continuity requirements.
  • Establish clear and predictable team operating rhythms, including workload reviews, forward planning, team forums and individual check-ins.
  • Provide visibility of CPC demand, capacity, risks, dependencies and emerging support requirements, escalating material constraints and trade-offs early.
  • Set and maintain the quality standards for coordination outputs, governance artefacts, templates, records and stakeholder communications.
  • Partner with programme and workstream leaders to anticipate future demand and evolve team coverage and responsibilities as CoreMod progresses.
  • Build greater resilience across the team through cross-skilling, documented processes, clear backup arrangements and knowledge sharing, reducing dependency on individual team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the team's templates, workflows, intake mechanisms and knowledge-sharing practices.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, transitions and broader people-management activities required to maintain an effective and sustainable CPC capability.

About you

You will be an experienced people leader who can bring clarity, structure and calm leadership to a complex programme environment.

You will be comfortable balancing competing demands, making trade-offs visible and constructively challenging stakeholders when capacity or priorities need to be addressed.

To succeed in the role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, including setting direction, coaching performance and building capability and confidence.
  • A strong service-management mindset, with the ability to balance demand, capacity, priorities and stakeholder expectations across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to translate complex or ambiguous requirements into clear actions, ownership and delivery rhythms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability, including the confidence to challenge constructively, negotiate trade-offs and escalate risks when required.
  • Working knowledge of project and programme delivery environments, while recognising that this position is not accountable for technical project delivery.
  • The judgement to remain close enough to delivery to identify emerging issues while empowering team members to retain ownership of outcomes.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset and a focus on building a resilient and scalable team capability, rather than service delivery being dependent on particular individuals.
