Maintenance Person I - Assigned to the Maintenance and Grounds Dept (27-01)

Job Summary

Directly responsible to the Maintenance and Grounds Supervisor. Under direction from the Maintenance and Grounds Supervisor, performs a variety of skilled work in the repair of district buildings, facilities, grounds and equipment in order to provide a safe and orderly environment for students and staff. Performs other related work as directed.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE
Required:
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a general maintenance position in a large facility or school district and one year in a specific building trade
Desired:
- Additional years of experience in a specific building trade

EDUCATION
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent

DOCUMENTS
Required:
- Possession of a valid California Drivers License
- DMV Printout (showing No Vehicle Code moving violation within the last 12 months)

TESTING:
A combination of written and hands-on tests may be administered to secure the best qualified applicants.
Applications will be screened. Applicants who pass the initial screening will be invited to take the written test which is tentatively scheduled to take place Thursday, 11/19/2026. Qualified applicants will be selected to participate in the hands-on testing process, date to be determined. Those who are deemed best qualified at the conclusion of all required testing will be scheduled for an interview.
