Para-Educator I, Long-Term Substitute, Tomales Elementary School - 5 days per week, 6 hourss per day

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the site supervisor/teacher. Works with teacher to help with instruction for students in academic and non-academic areas. Understanding of and experience working with English Learners (especially those with no or limited English skills). Assist in supervising students to maintain effective learning environment, noting behavioral problems observed and disciplining when necessary. Expected to have completed six units of early childhood education/CD courses, Must pursue completion of twelve ECE units.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Our team is looking for a colleague who is positive, kind, happy, energetic, and an outgoing people person who conducts themselves professionally in any situation. Has the ability and experience to work constructively with younger children. Must be comfortable working 1:1 with students or in small groups. Must have strong, positive behavior management skills (yard duty), work well with minimum supervision, be proactive, a self- starter, flexible and solution focused. Bilingual in Spanish preferred
