Experiences Concept Designer
- Full Time
About the role
Job Description
Just imagine turning the creative possibilities of LEGO® bricks into hands-on experiences that can grow from an early idea into memorable marketing moments. Then make it real.
About the role
As our Experiences Concept Designer, you'll participate on development of Brick Based Marketing concepts that support marketing activations, product campaigns and other brand moments across the LEGO portfolio.
You'll get involved early in the creative process, working with partners to understand their needs, audiences and objectives and translating these into compelling hands-on experiential part of our concepts.
This is a hands-on creative role where you'll combine blue-sky thinking with grounded design decisions, bringing your own ideas while considering scalability, cost, quality and what it takes to turn a strong concept into reality.
Note: This role is based in Billund, Denmark. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Required Qualifications
- Significant professional experience in concept design, experience design, product design, spatial design or another relevant creative discipline.
- A portfolio demonstrating your own contribution to physical, hands-on or spatial concepts, from early creative thinking through to a feasible design direction.
- Experience translating customer, shopper, consumer or partner needs into creative concepts that support business objectives.
- Experience working with physical products, components, materials or environments as part of the creative process.
- Proven ability to lead creative workshops or brainstorms, helping teams move from broad possibilities towards strong, focused concepts.
- Strong visual, presentation and communication skills, with the confidence to lead dialogues and provide creative direction across disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven record creating branded experiences, experiential campaigns or physical activations for customers and consumers.
What you'll build
- Develop scalable, hands-on LEGO® experience part of BBM concepts that support marketing activations, product campaigns and other brand moments across the portfolio.
- Translate partner needs, shopper insights and business objectives into clear creative propositions, using relevant trends and learnings from previous work to strengthen concepts from early exploration through development and pitch.
- Lead brainstorms, workshops and creative reviews, helping multidisciplinary teams explore possibilities and progress towards strong creative solutions.
- Develop and communicate concepts through visual storytelling, sketches, prototypes, models or presentations, making the experience and creative thinking clear and compelling to partners.
- Balance creative ambition with feasibility, scalability, cost and quality, collaborating with design, engineering, production and relevant external partners as concepts develop.
- Present and advocate for creative proposals while constructively challenging partners and colleagues to strengthen strategy and execution.
- Proactively identify new opportunities for BBM experiences and contribute to raising the creative and professional standard across the studio.
Life on the team
You'll join the Brick Based Marketing Studio (the Studio), a global centre of excellence for Bbrick Based Marketing. We work with partners early in the creative process to uncover their needs, strengthen concepts before development and explore how brick-based experiences can support our brand and business objectives.
Our ambition goes beyond creating individual models or one-off activations. We want to discover new ways for LEGO® bricks to create memorable experiences in a crowded media landscape, while developing approaches and concepts that can work across different moments, touchpoints and markets.
You'll have dedicated concept time alongside brainstorms, creative reviews and regular team sessions. You'll combine exploration with grounded thinking, contributing your own ideas while helping colleagues and partners develop theirs.
What success looks like
You'll be part of team developing impactful BBM concepts that answer partner needs and progress into real projects. You'll help raise the standards of the Studio creative work and contribute with hands-on experiential assets that make purposeful use of LEGO® bricks and physical interaction.
