Requirements / Qualifications

IF HIRED MUST PROVIDE proof of high school graduation, equivalency or higher education. (i.e. degree)

EDUCATION: Equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade PLUS 2 years (48 sem. or 72 qtr. units) of college study OR an Associates (A.A.) Degree or higher, OR an Instructional Aide Proficiency Certificate dated after May 2003, which can be administered by ALSD, if needed. Applicants who have received a proficiency certificate are also required to complete a writing assessment administered by ALSD.

EXPERIENCE: 1 year paid experience working with multi-age groups of children.

IF SELECTED THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED: Fingerprint verification at an approximate cost of $64 to the employee; Proof of TB clearance (within 4 years) at employee’s cost or a “Certificate of Completion” signed by a licensed health care provider for the Adult TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire; Certificate of Completion for the CA Mandated Reporter Training dated after July 1, 2026.
