Extensive Support Needs Education Specialist

Job Summary

Keiller Leadership Academy is seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, flexible, and experienced Education Specialist for a temporary eight-week assignment beginning in January 2027.

This position supports students with Extensive Support Needs (ESN) who require significant academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and personal care assistance throughout the school day.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a high-demand, fast-paced, and sometimes high-stress classroom environment where student needs can change rapidly and immediate intervention may be necessary.

Students in this program may require intensive support with communication, emotional regulation, toileting, feeding, mobility, daily living skills, and behavioral challenges.

This is a hands-on position requiring active student engagement, direct supervision, and a willingness to assist with all aspects of student care, including toileting, diapering, hygiene, and personal care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specialized Academic Instruction

Plan, develop, and deliver individualized instruction aligned with students' IEP goals.

Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to accommodate a wide range of cognitive, developmental, and physical abilities.

Provide direct instruction in functional academics, communication, social skills, and independent living skills.

Implement differentiated instruction, visual supports, structured routines, and individualized learning activities.

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate IEP goal data.

Support students' participation in general education and inclusion opportunities when appropriate.

Personal Care, Toileting, and Daily Living Support

Provide and supervise direct assistance with toileting, diapering, changing, and personal hygiene as needed.

Support students who are not toilet-trained or who require assistance with bathroom routines.

CA Multiple subject teaching credential w/CLAD
Clear Education Specialist Instruction credential

*Experience with English Language Learners is also a requirement.
*Candidates must have experience co-teaching in a full inclusion educational setting.
