Job Summary

BASIC FUNCTION
To serve as a Bilingual Aide to teacher, to assist teachers at various school sites in the instruction of limited-English proficient students, to promote cross-cultural understanding, and facilitate learning. To perform clerical and paraprofessional duties both outside and in the classroom and to do other related work as may be required.

Possession of a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent and one of the following requirements:
Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; or obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness).
