Signing Partner, Commissioning & Witnessing (Kelowna / Okanagan, BC)

ClearEstate helps Canadians plan their estates and settle the estates of loved ones, combining trained professionals with easy-to-use technology.

We're looking for lawyers and notaries public to join our BC Signing Partner Network as external consultants. Our clients prepare their enduring powers of attorney and representation agreements online with ClearEstate, then need a local lawyer or notary to witness the signing, and commission any affidavits. That's where you come in. The role does not include giving legal advice, and the work fits around your existing practice.

Client demand is growing, and we're adding partners across the Okanagan.

What we offer

• Client referrals in your area, for free
• Short, fixed-scope appointments: the documents are ready, so you only witness and commission
• Your usual fee for each signing
• One monthly invoice to ClearEstate, with no chasing clients for payment
• A one-year independent contractor agreement

Key responsibilities

• Meet clients in person at your office, or virtually where permitted
• Confirm each client's identity
• Witness the signing of enduring powers of attorney and representation agreements
• Commission affidavits where required
• Upload signed documents to the ClearEstate platform

Requirements

• Member in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia or the Society of Notaries Public of BC
• No current disciplinary proceedings
• Professional liability insurance as required by your regulator
• An office in the Okanagan where you can meet clients
• Comfortable with online tools and focused on client service
