About the role

Are you passionate about helping customers solve complex technical challenges? As a Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will partner directly with customers to design and deliver cloud architectures that drive real business outcomes — whether that means reducing costs, accelerating product launches, or building entirely new capabilities. You will combine your technical depth with a genuine curiosity about each customer's business to craft solutions that are secure, scalable, reliable, and performant.

This role puts you at the intersection of technology and business strategy. You will work across a broad range of AWS services, guiding customers through design trade-offs and helping them adopt cloud best practices. If you are a self-starter who thrives on translating ambiguous technical problems into well-architected solutions, we want to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end solution design for customer engagements, understanding business context and outcome priorities to architect solutions that address specific technical and strategic objectives.
- Dive into technical details with customer engineering teams — evaluating design choices around load distribution, data store selection, scaling strategies, and failover mechanisms — to ensure architectures meet reliability, security, and performance requirements.
- Develop and deliver technical content such as workshops, presentations, sample code, and white papers that educate customers on best practices and accelerate their adoption of AWS services.
- Collaborate with internal teams including sales, business development, professional services, and engineering to progress customer opportunities and translate product feedback into actionable requirements for service teams.
- Identify opportunities to simplify existing solutions and contribute reusable design patterns, reference architectures, and best practices that benefit the broader Solutions Architect community.

A day in the life
You might start your morning reviewing an architecture proposal for a customer migrating a critical workload, then jump into a design session where you whiteboard a resilient, cost-effective solution alongside the customer's engineering leads. After lunch, you could be building a proof of concept that demonstrates how generative AI capabilities can address a customer's specific use case. Later, you share lessons learned from a recent engagement during a peer design review, helping teammates refine their own approaches. Throughout it all, you are the trusted technical advisor your customers rely on.

About the team
Our team of Solutions Architects works at the forefront of cloud technology, partnering with customers to turn ambitious ideas into production-ready architectures. We operate in a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing, mentorship, and continuous learning are part of how we work every day. Join us and help shape how customers build on AWS.
