Apply

About the role

You want to create a supportive culture where people perform and grow beyond their job.

Your innovative mindset is key to creating solutions to complex problems. Our systems drive our organisational success and underpin every journey our customers take. This is your opportunity to be part of an expert team who build and refine seamless technology experiences.

In this role, you'll:

Join the Testing and Assurance business unit, which is a growing Group Technology function providing centralised testing services across the whole of NSW Transport. As part of a newly established team, you will help shape environment standards while working closely with internal teams and third-party providers to support seamless testing delivery.

This is a broad role where you will be a member of a small technical team that maintains and enhances the Microsoft Azure based infrastructure used in automated functional, performance and security testing. The focus is on ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of servers, storage and cloud-based environments (SaaS) used by the testing teams.

In addition, you will play a key role in coordinating and delivering security testing services across the whole of NSW Transport, including penetration testing and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST).

About you

The ideal candidate is a broadly experienced infrastructure specialist with solid hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure and Windows server builds.

Azure experience should include VM deployment skills, scripting ability, Cloud infrastructure and security configuration, including secure secrets management, storage services, network security controls, application delivery and web protection, certificate lifecycle management and implementing best practices.

Experience with cloud-based identity and access management (IAM) platforms, such as Microsoft Entra ID, including application integration for authentication.

Experience with code-based infrastructure deployment and Basic Linux skill will be highly valued.

An understanding of application architectures and underlying technologies will be of value in support of the testing teams work and also the security testing components of the role.

Ideally, you will bring practical expertise in supporting test environments and have exposure to security testing practices, with DAST or penetration testing experience highly regarded.

A proactive, motivated mindset is essential, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves, solve problems, and support team success in a fast-paced environment. We’re looking for someone who thrives on collaboration, contributes positively to team culture, and consistently puts in the effort to deliver reliable and high-quality outcomes.
