Personal Injury

We handle a broad range of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, pedestrian accidents, premises liability, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, and other negligence-related claims. Position Overview

The Law Clerk will work closely with Partners and Associate Attorneys, on personal injury matters involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury claims. Responsibilities include legal research, drafting pleadings and discovery, reviewing medical records, preparing demand packages, assisting with depositions and trial preparation, and supporting all phases of litigation from intake through resolution.

Responsibilities

· Assist attorneys with personal injury cases from intake through settlement or trial.

· Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on personal injury, negligence, and insurance-related issues.

· Draft pleadings, complaints, demand letters, discovery requests, discovery responses, and motions.

· Review and summarize medical records, billing records, accident reports, and insurance documentation.

· Prepare medical chronologies, special damages summaries, and case evaluations.

· Communicate with clients regarding case updates, treatment status, and document collection.

· Assist in gathering evidence, including photographs, witness statements, police reports, and expert records.

· Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel.

· Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files.

· Prepare deposition summaries, mediation briefs, and trial exhibits.

· Assist attorneys with deposition preparation, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.

· Draft settlement packages and support settlement negotiations.

· Track litigation deadlines and ensure timely filing of court documents.

· Attend client meetings, court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials when appropriate.

· Perform general litigation support and administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or graduated from an accredited law school
• Open to 1L, 2L, 3L-year law students or post Bar graduates
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to handle multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment
• Professional communication skills and attention to detail
• Interest in Personal Injury Law

Compensation and Benefits

·         Hourly pay rates from $20 - $35 per hour depending on experience and qualifications

·         Benefits – subject to eligibility and applicable firm policies
