2026-27 Food Service Program Manager

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Food Service Coordinator, oversee and support the day-to-day operations of food preparation and meal service for District specialized programs (including North Bay Children's Center (NBCC) and Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs (ELOP)). Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and program standards. Complete required CACFP training to ensure a thorough understanding of and compliance with federal food program requirements. Collaborate with NBCC, ELOP, YMCA, Sodexo consultant, and staff to coordinate and support the effective feeding of students and ensure meals are served safely, efficiently, and in accordance with program guidelines.

Requirements / Qualifications

Knowledge of:
- Basic understanding of food cost and ordering procedures
- Proper methods of preparing, cooking, and serving foods in large quantities
- Basic reading and arithmetic skills
- Basic principles and techniques involved in managing nutrition programs
Ability to:
- Prepare food suited to the needs of children by following recipe cards
- Operate common commercial appliances found in a cafeteria
- Follow oral and written directions
- Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Experience
- One year of paid experience in the preparation and serving of food in a cafeteria or restaurant.
