About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform vulnerability scanning and asset discovery, track remediation against SLAs, and verify that fixes have been applied.
  • Assess newly disclosed critical vulnerabilities and security advisories (e.g., CISA KEV, vendor advisories) to determine applicability, affected assets and patching urgency, and recommend interim mitigations where immediate patching is not feasible.
  • Coordinate the pre-engagement, delivery and follow-up of penetration tests carried out by external testing vendors for internal teams.
  • Review Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) findings, share them with affected teams and address their queries.
  • Support the Bug Bounty Programme by validating and triaging submitted reports, assessing severity, and following up with relevant teams until fixes are verified and closed. Handle researcher communications and support scope updates and programme reporting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues with vulnerability assessment tools, working with internal teams and vendor support, including raising product support tickets where needed.
  • Support DevSecOps CI/CD deployments in meeting Income Insurance’s Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) standard and configure and resolve DAST scan issues for newly onboarded applications.
  • Monitor DAST scans and perform health checks to ensure they run as scheduled.
  • Administer vulnerability management tools, including system health checks, verification of scanning agents, maintaining availability and assisting with log extraction for investigations.
  • Ensure configuration changes to scanning tools follow Income Insurance’s procedures and change management processes, ensure scanners comply with hardening standards, and support periodic access reviews.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly VAPT metrics and dashboards for department management, and VA statistics and reports for quarterly management meetings.
  • Support technical risk assessments and recommend mitigating controls for vulnerability findings that cannot be remediated.
  • Support process and procedure improvement initiatives as assigned by management.
