About Pocket
At Pocket, we’re building the future of human memory.
Some of the most valuable information in our lives disappears when a conversation ends: an idea, a decision, a detail we wish we could remember. Pocket helps us hold onto it.
We’ve built an AI-powered device that captures real-world conversations and turns them into searchable transcripts, summaries and next steps. Backed by Accel and Y Combinator (W26), we’ve already sold 500,000 devices.
Our ambition goes beyond recording. We believe the things you learn, discuss and experience can become useful context for the AI tools you already use, and for products that don’t exist yet.
About the Role
Pocket sells through our own store and Amazon. You’ll build the next channel: U.S. retail.
That means more than getting a buyer to say yes. You’ll decide where Pocket should be sold, negotiate a deal that works, get the product onto shelves and make sure it sells through. You’ll work with operations on inventory, marketing on launches and merchandising, and finance on margins and terms.
What You’ll Own
Retail strategy: which retailers to pursue, in what order, with what assortment and pricing.
Buyer relationships, pitches, line reviews and commercial negotiations across national, specialty and online retailers.
Economics and terms, including margins, marketing development funds, co-op, payment terms, returns and allowances.
Launch execution from vendor setup to availability in stores and online.
Sell-in, sell-through, reporting, forecasting and replenishment with operations.
Vendor compliance, EDI, chargebacks and deductions, plus in-store merchandising and promotions with marketing.
Pricing consistency across channels and the use of distributors, brokers or sales representatives where they add value.
What We’re Looking For
At least six years in retail sales, channel management or key-account management for consumer products.
A major national U.S. retailer launch you personally led, followed by growth after launch.
Existing relationships with buyers at major U.S. retailers.
Strong retail economics and operational knowledge, including margins, returns, chargebacks and deductions.
Experience with sell-through analysis, forecasting and inventory planning.
Good negotiation and commercial judgment, with the independence to execute while the team is small.
Bonus Points
Consumer electronics experience or taking a DTC brand into retail for the first time.
Why Join Pocket?
You’ll build a channel from the beginning, with a product already selling directly to customers. You’ll have direct access to founders and the chance to shape the strategy, commercial model and execution together.
