Backend Software Engineer

Description

Flytrex runs drone food delivery at scale in US cities. We're scaling from a handful of sites to a national network, and the systems need to scale with us.

About the role

• Build and own features end-to-end across a distributed, event-driven backend: design, code, tests, rollout, and production follow-up.
• Work on real problems: order state machines, eta prediction, app integrations, and the features our users use every day.
• Ship fast and make end-to-end impact.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on backend experience.
• Solid CS fundamentals. You can reason about concurrency, state, and failure modes, not just APIs.
• You write tests because you want to know your code works, not because someone told you to.
• Curious, direct, and comfortable with ambiguity. You ask questions, push back when something doesn't make sense, and take ownership without waiting to be assigned.
