Assembly Process Coach Maintenance
- Onsite
- Full Time
About the role
Lead and coordinate the technical maintenance team during the shift to ensure maximum operational availability (Technical Uptime) of the assembly lines. Responsible for immediate response to unscheduled downtime, disciplined execution of the preventive and predictive maintenance plan (TPM / MOS), strict compliance with electrical safety and energy isolation standards (LOTO / ZES), and the stewardship of plant assets.
Safety — Top Operational Priority
- 100% Adherence to LOTO / ZES: Conduct daily audits to ensure technicians lock out electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic energy sources prior to servicing any equipment (presses, conveyors, silicone dispense cells).
- High-Risk Work Permits: Validate and sign permits for working at heights (platforms above lines or overhead rails), confined spaces, and live electrical work under NFPA 70E standards.
- Safety Device Integrity: Guarantee that no technician ever bypasses a light curtain, gate interlock switch, or emergency stop (E-Stop) to "push production through quickly."
Delivery / Uptime
- MTTR Reduction (Mean Time To Repair): Ensure response times to Andon calls are under 3 minutes and troubleshooting is accurate.
- Critical Assembly Station Support:
- Silicone Dispense Cells (RTV): Troubleshoot Nordson/SCA dispensing systems and Fanuc/ABB robot paths.
- DC Torque Tools: Rapidly replace cables, bits, transducers, or out-of-calibration Atlas Copco / Bosch Rexroth controllers.
- Servo Presses: Troubleshoot over-tonnage/force alarms, servomotors, and load cells (Kistler/Promess).
- Leak Test Benches: Detect leaks in quick-disconnect hoses, pneumatic seals, and solenoid valves.
- Maintenance Shift Handover: Conduct face-to-face shift handoffs with the incoming PCM, detailing equipment under temporary workarounds ("band-aids"), pending spare parts in the Tool Crib, and intermittent faults.
Quality
- Original Parameter Preservation: Ensure that following any mechanical or controls repair, stations are recalibrated strictly to engineering specifications (without altering robot origins or torque limits based on personal judgment).
- Autonomous Maintenance: Partner with Production to train operators on basic inspection and cleaning routines for their stations (TPM Pillar 1).
Cost / Asset Management
- Maximo Work Order Management: Ensure every maintenance activity is logged via a Work Order, accurately capturing time spent, root cause, and parts consumed.
- Critical Spares Control: Check out components from the Tool Crib using the correct part numbers, and route high-cost items (spindles, servomotors, valve manifolds) for rebuilding or warranty claims.
