Its scope covers U.S. federal, state, and local tax, with close coordination on international matters affecting the U.S. consolidated group. The role supports the integration of the legacy IGT Gaming & Digital and Everi tax functions within an Apollo-owned, leveraged structure, helping standardize and consolidate processes, data, and systems and expand in-house capabilities.

• Manage domestic obligations under the Brightstar Tax Matters Agreement, including shared filings and indemnities, and provide tax clearance and good-standing support for gaming license applications and renewals.
Tax Accounting and Reporting under U.S. GAAP
• Manage the quarterly and annual U.S. federal and state components of the income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 under U.S. GAAP, including current and deferred taxes, return-to-provision true-ups, valuation allowance assessments, and uncertain tax positions (ASC 740-10).
• Support the VP of Tax in preparing the consolidated global tax provision and related U.S. GAAP financial statement disclosures.
• Ensure income tax payable/receivable and deferred tax balances are reconciled each quarter and supported by a maintained tax basis balance sheet.
• Prepare effective tax rate and cash tax forecasts, and support tax reporting to Apollo and lender covenant reporting.
Tax Planning and Transactions
• Identify, develop, and implement U.S. tax planning to optimize cash taxes and the effective tax rate, including interest deductibility (§163(j)), R&D credits and §174, attribute utilization, and state apportionment and nexus planning.
• Support post-merger legal entity rationalization, financing initiatives, and M&A due diligence, structuring, and integration.
• Monitor federal and state legislative developments, assess their impact on IGT, and communicate recommendations to management.
• Advise the Gaming, Digital, and FinTech business units on the U.S. tax implications of contracts, new products, and business initiatives.
