Our Wakefield branch is a purpose-built practice, opened in 2021, with a large established client base and a friendly, experienced team. Facilities include:

  • Attractive, modern building with plenty of client parking.
  • Spacious waiting room with separate cat and dog areas.
  • Air-conditioned consulting rooms.
  • Minimum 15-minute consultation times.
  • Silver Cat Friendly Clinic status.
  • Fully equipped operating theatre.
  • Digital X-ray and high-quality ultrasound scanner.
  • Dental X-ray facilities.
  • Comprehensive in-house laboratory.

We pride ourselves on our supportive culture, clinical excellence and commitment to employee wellbeing. We have a dedicated Champions Team organising regular social events, trained mental health advisors and a strong belief that everyone should have a voice. We are also proud to have achieved the Investors in the Environment Bronze Award.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a confident, approachable Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys consulting and delivering excellent patient and client care.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience managing a varied first-opinion consultation caseload.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain diagnoses, prognoses and treatment options clearly and compassionately.
  • Confidence managing medical cases, including more complex presentations.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach to problem-solving and treatment planning.
  • The ability to work independently and occasionally provide sole-charge cover.
  • A positive, collaborative attitude and a genuine passion for teamwork.

You'll usually be working alongside three experienced colleagues, so you'll always have opportunities to share knowledge and discuss cases.
