Sustainability Manager

Job Purpose:

The Sustainability Manager will serve as a key technical expert and industry advocate for EcoCeres’ renewable fuels business, with a primary focus on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Capitalizing on recent government mandates requiring Hong Kong airlines to incorporate SAF, this role will drive external stakeholder engagement, represent the company at high-profile seminars and industry gatherings, and promote EcoCeres' market leadership. Additionally, the role provides hands-on technical and operational support for international sustainability certifications

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Policy and stakeholder engagement:

• Monitor relevant renewable fuel policy, certification and market developments and assess their implications for the business.
• Represent the company in selected industry working groups, technical discussions and stakeholder initiatives.
• Build effective relationships with regulators, certification bodies, industry associations, research institutions and technical partners.
• Translate external insights into actionable recommendations and internal knowledge sharing.

Certification and market access:

• Lead projects to obtain new sustainability certifications, pathway approvals and market-access qualifications.
• Coordinate application dossiers, supporting evidence and responses to certification bodies, regulators and advisers.
• Assess new requirements and translate them into implementation plans, working with the team’s certification, regulatory and GHG specialists.

New feedstocks and business models:

• Work with Feedstock, R&D and Operations to identify evidence gaps, clarify eligibility requirements and progress approval activities.
• Drive the implementation and adoption of book-and-claim and other sustainability-related business models, including pilot delivery, workflows, stakeholder coordination and operational handover.
• Support customer enablement in partnership with Sales while maintaining appropriate controls over sustainability claims and environmental attributes.

Sustainability project delivery:

• Lead a portfolio of sustainability initiatives, establishing clear objectives, scope, milestones, responsibilities and success measures.
• Coordinate cross-functional contributors, manage dependencies and risks, resolve issues and escalate decisions when required.
• Monitor progress and communicate project status, resource needs and recommendations to management.
• Ensure completed projects are supported by appropriate procedures, training, controls and operational ownership.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Energy, Business, Public Policy or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in sustainable aviation fuel, renewable fuels, aviation, energy, sustainability certification, public affairs, policy engagement or a related field.
• Good knowledge of SAF value chains, sustainability requirements and the policy environment affecting renewable fuels.
• Practical familiarity with certification schemes such as ISCC, including chain of custody, feedstock eligibility and greenhouse-gas requirements, is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to engage confidently with government, industry, customers, certification bodies and senior internal stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical or regulatory topics in clear business language.
• Strong project coordination, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and hands-on approach.
• Fluency in Cantonese and English. Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage
