About the role
About the Role
Join a hands-on robotics hardware team building autonomous systems for industrial environments. You will take mechanical subsystems from concept through fabrication and prototype iteration, helping turn robotic systems into deployable infrastructure.
What You'll Do
Own mechanical subsystem design from initial sketches through prototypes and iterations, selecting materials, tolerances, and manufacturing methods.
Design parts and assemblies in CAD, using hand calculations and FEA to guide decisions.
Build and iterate on hardware using 3D printers, shop tools, and CNC equipment.
Integrate mechanical designs with motors, sensors, electronics, and actuators on robotic arms and mobile bases.
Work with electrical, software, and robotics teams to develop autonomous systems for production deployment.
What We're Looking For
Two to five years of mechanical hardware design experience, including work on 6DOF robot arms or comparable multi-axis robotic systems.
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proficiency with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, or equivalent CAD tools.
Experience taking physical robot prototypes from concept to working hardware, including mechanisms, joints, drivetrains, or end effectors.
Hands-on fabrication skills with 3D printing, CNC machining, and shop tools, in addition to CAD and simulation work.
Experience shipping robotics hardware on a startup or small, hands-on team and owning subsystems independently.
Background integrating mechatronic systems with motors, sensors, or actuators; FEA or topology optimization experience is useful.
Authorization to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $150,000 to $250,000 USD annually.
Location
On-site in San Francisco, United States.
