Global Central Analytics is expanding its established marketplace reporting capabilities across the Autonex group. We are looking for a Principal Analytics Lead to build our Portfolio Intelligence capability for AutoProff, DealerTrack, CMS, Software and Finance. You will help business leaders understand performance through trusted core KPIs and reporting that reflects how each business operates.
You will report to the Central Analytics Lead, shape technical direction and work directly on complex analytical challenges. Just as importantly, you will help colleagues develop their skills and improve how the team delivers insight across the business. AI is embedded in our everyday work. You will use AI tools actively in analysis and development, help colleagues adopt effective workflows, and apply sound judgment to the results.
What you’ll do
- Shape the analytics priorities and reporting approach for portfolio businesses, connecting their commercial drivers to the decisions leaders need to make.
- Coach analysts through problem framing, pairing, reviews and constructive feedback. Help colleagues develop their technical judgment, stakeholder communication and confidence in owning complex work.
- Raise standards across Global Central Analytics by sharing best practices, creating reusable approaches and turning lessons from projects into guidance the wider team can apply.
- Identify opportunities to improve how the team works: simplify reporting, reduce manual effort and technical debt, and improve reliability, delivery speed and the cost of analytical workloads.
- Make AI part of everyday delivery, from SQL and Python development to exploration, testing, documentation and reporting. Evaluate new tools and agentic workflows, share what works, and validate results against trusted data.
- Lead complex reporting initiatives from requirements to adoption, staying hands-on with data models, pipelines and dashboards and partnering with engineering and data platform teams.
- Establish clear KPI definitions, ownership and validation, with documentation and controlled changes that preserve comparability. Create reusable metrics and semantic context that support reliable self-service and AI-assisted analysis.
- Diagnose performance movements, identify risks and opportunities, and translate analysis into recommendations. Shape the insights discussed in weekly and monthly business reviews with the relevant business owners.
- Partner with FP&A to establish and maintain financial core KPI reporting, connecting operational performance with financial outcomes while respecting Finance’s ownership of financial definitions and reporting decisions.
- Act as a senior analytics partner to business and technical leaders. Resolve ambiguity, challenge assumptions and align stakeholders on priorities, trade-offs and a practical delivery approach.
What you bring
- A record of senior-level impact in analytics, including shaping ambiguous problems, leading complex initiatives and influencing decisions across teams.
- Advanced SQL and strong data modelling skills, with practical experience building maintainable analytical datasets and transformations across multiple source systems.
- Programming and automation skills for repeatable data preparation, analysis and validation, using a language such as Python.
- Hands-on use of AI assistants and agentic workflows in analytical or coding work, with the judgment to test generated code, validate conclusions and recognize limitations.
- Experience delivering reliable reporting with cloud data platforms, transformation tools and BI systems, supported by version control, testing and documentation.
- Proven ownership of KPI frameworks and reporting quality, including reconciliation, validation and changes to definitions or sources.
- The ability to learn unfamiliar business domains, identify their performance drivers and balance reusable standards with business-specific needs.
- Experience coaching analysts, improving team practices and sharing knowledge beyond your own projects, while remaining closely involved in technical delivery.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders, challenging unclear requirements constructively and translating analysis into decisions and practical recommendations.
Preferred experience
- Experience leading a small analytics team, supporting colleagues’ development and helping them prioritize their work.
- Experience partnering with Finance or FP&A on financial KPIs, management reporting, reconciliation or the connection between operational and financial performance.
- Experience developing shared metrics, semantic layers or AI-enabled self-service analytics.
- Experience establishing analytics or recurring business reviews across multiple business units, particularly in software, FinTech, dealer services or B2B businesses.
