About the role

Job Summary:

Based in Syria, the Reservoir Engineer provides reservoir-engineering analysis and technical recommendations to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and support safe, economically sound development of ADES Production assets in Syria. The role integrates geological, petrophysical, pressure, PVT, well-test and production data to understand reservoir performance, maintain forecasts, estimate reserves and identify development and production opportunities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor reservoir performance using production, injection, pressure, well-test and surveillance data, identifying trends, uncertainties, risks and recovery opportunities.
  • Perform material-balance, decline-curve, pressure-transient and rate-transient analyses to assess reservoir behavior and well performance.
  • Build and update reservoir models, complete history matching and generate production forecasts under alternative development and operating scenarios.
  • Prepare and maintain reserves and resources estimates, supporting annual business plans, production targets, budgets and technical assurance reviews.
  • Evaluate new wells, infill opportunities, recompletions, workovers, stimulation and injection options, ranking proposals on technical value, uncertainty and economics.
  • Contribute to field-development plans and surveillance programmers and integrate recommendations with Geoscience, Production Technology, Drilling, Facilities, Operations and Economics teams.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering or a closely related discipline; a relevant master's degree is an advantage.
  • 5-8 years of upstream reservoir-engineering experience across producing oil and/or gas assets, preferably including mature-field development.
  • Hands-on experience in reservoir surveillance, simulation and history matching, reserves estimation, production forecasting and well-opportunity evaluation.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard reservoir simulation, material-balance and subsurface tools such as Eclipse/INTERSECT, CMG, Petrel, MBAL, OFM or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, uncertainty-management and technical-reporting skills, with fluency in Arabic and English and the ability to influence multidisciplinary decisions.
