As an SAP TM Consultant, you will play a key role in modernizing transportation and logistics operations by transitioning legacy SAP ECC shipment processes to SAP Transportation Management (TM). You will contribute to the full implementation lifecycle, from current-state analysis and solution design to configuration, testing, and deployment. Working closely with business and IT stakeholders, you will help build integrated transportation solutions that improve planning, execution, freight settlement, and operational efficiency. You will also ensure seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA modules and warehouse management systems while aligning transportation master data with industry best practices. Accountabilities:
Review existing SAP ECC shipment configurations, customizations, interfaces, and transportation processes to establish a clear understanding of the current system landscape.
Document existing transportation workflows, system dependencies, and integration points to support the migration to SAP Transportation Management.
Identify functional and technical gaps between legacy SAP ECC shipment capabilities and SAP TM functionality, recommending appropriate solutions.
Contribute to project planning, implementation timelines, resource estimation, and delivery coordination.
Participate in blueprinting and solution design workshops with business stakeholders and IT teams to define requirements and establish the target solution architecture.
Configure and implement SAP TM capabilities covering transportation planning, execution, freight order management, and freight settlement.
Support the replacement and decommissioning of legacy ECC shipment processes, ensuring a controlled transition to the new transportation management environment.
Design, implement, and validate data integrations between SAP TM, SAP Stock Room Management, future SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) capabilities, and core SAP S/4HANA modules.
Align transportation master data, freight order processes, and freight charge calculation structures with SAP TM best practices and business requirements.
Plan and execute functional testing, integration testing, defect resolution, and deployment activities to ensure solution quality and readiness.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and functional issues, maintain data consistency, and ensure end-to-end process integration.
Minimize disruption to ongoing logistics operations throughout implementation, migration, and legacy system decommissioning.
Requirements:
At least 6 years of relevant experience working with SAP ECC Shipments and SAP Transportation Management (TM), particularly in migration or implementation initiatives.
Demonstrated experience transitioning transportation processes from SAP ECC shipment functionality to SAP TM.
Strong expertise in SAP TM implementation, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
Experience integrating SAP TM with SAP Stock Room Management and familiarity with future SAP EWM integration requirements.
Working knowledge of core SAP S/4HANA modules, including Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Logistics Execution (LE), Financial Accounting (FI), and Foreign Trade (FT).
Understanding of transportation planning, freight order management, freight settlement, charge calculation, and transportation master data management.
Ability to analyze existing system configurations, document business processes, identify functional gaps, and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Experience supporting blueprinting, integration design, functional testing, issue resolution, and deployment activities within complex SAP environments.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business users, technical teams, and project leadership.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on accuracy and process continuity.
Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently in a remote environment, and contribute effectively to project milestones.
Ability to perform essential job duties safely, including extended computer-based work and occasional movement to attend meetings or collaborate with colleagues.
