About the role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Admission Counselor based in India.

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Admission Counselor to help prospective students make informed decisions about their education and career paths. In this role, you will guide students through course selection, eligibility requirements, admissions, and enrollment, ensuring a personalized and supportive experience. You will engage with prospective learners through inbound inquiries and outbound calls, building relationships and converting qualified leads into successful enrollments. Working in a fast-paced, target-oriented environment, you will combine consultative counseling with sales expertise to help students identify programs aligned with their ambitions. You will collaborate with admissions teams, maintain accurate CRM records, and contribute to the growth of an expanding online education business. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on learners' futures while developing your skills in education counseling, customer engagement, and sales.

Accountabilities

  • Provide personalized academic and career counseling to prospective students, addressing questions about courses, eligibility criteria, admission procedures, tuition fees, and scholarships.

  • Explain program structures, learning methodologies, key features, and potential career opportunities to help students make informed educational decisions.

  • Generate, qualify, and manage leads through outbound cold calling, inbound inquiries, and proactive follow-ups.

  • Convert prospective students into enrolled learners while consistently achieving monthly enrollment and sales targets.

  • Guide applicants through the admissions process, manage application-related queries, and maintain clear and timely communication with students and parents.

  • Follow up on enrollment confirmations, resolve concerns, and coordinate with internal admissions teams to ensure a smooth enrollment experience.

  • Build, expand, and maintain a database of prospective students, keeping all counseling interactions and lead updates accurately documented in CRM systems.

  • Monitor education industry trends, competing programs, and emerging career pathways to provide relevant and up-to-date guidance.

  • Maintain a student-focused approach while balancing enrollment targets, service quality, and operational efficiency.

  • Requirements

    • Education: A bachelor's or postgraduate degree in any discipline; qualifications in education, psychology, or related fields are advantageous.

    • Relevant experience: Approximately 2–4 years of experience in academic counseling, career guidance, admissions, educational sales, or a similar customer-facing role. The original posting also references 2–5 years of overall experience.

    • Communication skills: Fluency in both English and Hindi is mandatory, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.

    • Sales and persuasion: Demonstrated ability to engage prospective students, understand their needs, address objections, influence decisions, and convert leads into enrollments.

    • Counseling and interpersonal skills: Strong listening, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities, with a genuine interest in helping students achieve their academic and professional goals.

    • Organization and follow-up: Ability to manage a high volume of leads, prioritize tasks, maintain accurate records, and follow up consistently throughout the admissions journey.

    • Technical proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM tools are preferred.

    • Industry awareness: Understanding of education systems, academic programs, and career pathways is beneficial, with training provided where needed.

    • Target orientation: A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to perform in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

    • Work schedule: Flexibility to work six days per week, with a rotational weekly day off. Although the original job title mentions working from home, the description specifies six-day office work, so the exact work arrangement should be confirmed with the hiring team.

    • Benefits

      • Competitive, industry-aligned compensation.

      • Performance-based incentives and rewards linked to enrollment targets.

      • Additional employee benefits, as provided under the company's compensation and benefits program.

      • Opportunity to contribute to a growing online education business focused on academic advancement and career outcomes.

      • Exposure to education technology, student engagement, admissions operations, and consultative sales.

      • Opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams across product, operations, and engineering.

      • A fast-paced, growth-oriented environment offering opportunities to develop counseling, communication, and sales skills.

      • The opportunity to help students access higher education and connect their academic choices with future career opportunities.
