Senior Platform Software Engineer

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
 

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

1. Experience in large cross-functional teams or project

2. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or MCA

3. A Strong technical background that ideally includes exposure to Java based development architecture, Linux, SQL, SCM, and Agile methodology

4. Extensive experience developing Test Strategies, Test scripts and Test Procedures from System/application Requirement specifications according to the Business Requirements

Primary Skills

As a Quality Analyst you should have a demonstrable experience in testing frameworks with good handle on multi-tier architecture.

1. Experience working in a Java/J2EE environment.

2. Experience debugging and capturing backend failures and network issues

3. Hands-on Experience with API Testing Tools

4. Black Box Testing and White Box Testing

5. Knowledge on Cloud environments and deployments (Kubernetes and Docker)

6. Proactive investigating and debugging of application defects

8. Preparation of training materials of release features and work with documentation team for user guide and other technical guides.

Secondary – Knowledge / Skills / Domain

1. Experience with Performance/load testing tools (like JMeter/LoadRunner/OATS)

2. Knowledge of automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, NodeJS, Mocha, JUnit, and TestNG

3. Experience using testing tools such as JMeter, NUnit or Selenium

4. Understanding of relational databases and SQL

Special considerations if any

1. Experience in working on products that have transitioned to 'Cloud' from a deployment perspective would be an added advantage.

2. Working knowledge of scripting languages, such as Ruby, Python or Perl

3. Collaboration and project management tools: JIRA, Confluence

4. Experience with continuous automation/test tools such as Jenkins/Hudson

5. Relevant experience in Service-oriented architecture for cloud-based services

Strong written, verbal and presentation skills

Ability to work in a geographically distributed organization

Experience with container-based deployments using Docker, working with Docker images, Docker hub and Docker registries.
