AV Technician

AbelCine, a premier provider of equipment and technology solutions for the broadcast, production, and new media industries, is seeking experienced AV Technicians to join our freelance crew roster in support of a corporate client in New York City. This opportunity is well-suited for technically skilled professionals with hands-on Cisco and Crestron experience who can independently manage AV systems while delivering exceptional, white-glove technical support to C-suite executives and other senior-level stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot corporate AV systems, including Cisco codecs and Crestron switchers

• Provide technical support for executive meetings, presentations, and corporate events

• Set up and mic presenters using lavalier microphones

• Manage laptop connections, swap presentation sources, and troubleshoot connectivity issues

• Switch between PowerPoint presentations and manage presentation content

• Monitor and adjust audio levels throughout meetings and events

• Diagnose and resolve AV and technical issues in real time to minimize disruptions

• Provide general production and technical support to ensure meetings and events run smoothly

• Deliver professional, responsive, and discreet service to executives, clients, and other stakeholders

Requirements for a successful candidate

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Cisco codecs and Crestron switchers

• Previous experience in corporate AV, broadcast, live events, or a similar technical production environment

• Proficiency in microphone setup, audio level management, presentation switching, and laptop/source management

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently under pressure

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a polished, professional demeanor

• Ability to deliver high-touch, white-glove support to C-suite executives and senior-level clients

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate client needs

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clients and production teams

• Flexibility to accept assignments based on client needs and availability

Physical Effort

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking during meetings and events

• Dexterity to operate AV equipment, presentation systems, and audio controls

• Ability to transport and handle AV equipment as needed

• Ability to remain focused while monitoring multiple technical systems and responding to issues in real time

Engagement Details

• Engagement: Temporary

• Start Date: As needed

• End Date: Ongoing; assignments offered based on client needs

• Location: Onsite – New York, NY

• Schedule: As needed, based on client requirements

• Compensation Range: $680 per 8-hour day – $1,000 per 10-hour day, to be discussed
