Summary of Role

We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Driver / Transport Operative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of products, materials, and medical samples while ensuring compliance with company procedures and transportation regulations. You will play a key role in maintaining service excellence, shipment integrity, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned collection and delivery activities in line with schedules and service requirements.
• Verify shipment details and ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
• Obtain required signatures and proof of delivery records.
• Transport products and medical samples in accordance with route plans and applicable regulations.
• Communicate delivery updates, delays, and shipment exceptions promptly.
• Support loading and unloading activities to ensure efficient transport operations.
• Ensure packaging and labelling requirements are met to protect shipment integrity.
• Assist with specialised transport assignments, including transfer-point, airport, and hand-to-hand deliveries as required.

Skills and Knowledge

• Previous experience in a driving, courier, transport, or logistics role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling shipments and documentation.
• Good verbal communication skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to follow procedures, route plans, and transportation regulations.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements within a transport environment.
• Competent record-keeping and administrative skills.

Desirable

• Experience transporting pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical products.
• Knowledge of temperature-controlled transportation processes.
• Familiarity with proof of delivery systems and transport technology.
• Experience handling time-critical or specialist deliveries.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to respond to changing priorities.
• Knowledge of logistics and distribution operations.
• Experience supporting warehouse or loading activities.
• Understanding of compliance requirements within regulated industries.

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. Less than 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, courier operations, delivery services, or a related field required. Certification in dangerous goods awareness, licensure in operation of the applicable vehicle class, cold chain handling, or equivalent required.
