About the Role
Join a fast-moving AI and machine learning team building data-driven products in a startup environment. This role is suited to technically strong, quantitatively minded builders; a previous data science title is not required.
What You'll Do
Build and ship practical machine learning and data science solutions in an early-stage, zero-to-one environment.
Use agentic AI coding tools as part of your daily development workflow.
Work with ambiguous data and contribute to production-focused technical work across the team.
Help the team maintain a high pace of execution in an intense startup setting.
What We're Looking For
Five or more years of relevant technical experience, with an engineering or other strong technical background.
Strong quantitative foundations, such as a rigorous quantitative degree, advanced mathematics training, or equivalent demonstrated ability.
Daily hands-on use of agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
Experience as an early hire at a startup, ideally within the first 15 employees, and evidence of building in a zero-to-one environment.
Comfort operating at a demanding pace and working through ambiguous problems.
Retail or fresh produce experience is not required; the role is within AI and machine learning.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual base salary is €70,000 to €110,000. Visa sponsorship is available. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to Berlin.
Location
Hybrid in Berlin, Germany. Candidates should be based in Berlin or willing to relocate.
