As part of AMS’s award-winning, people-first culture, you’ll benefit from the same commitment to inclusion, recognition, and growth that drives success across all our brands.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Accounts Payable Manager who enjoys being close to the work while leading a team that keeps day-to-day operations running smoothly.

In this role, you’ll oversee daily AP operations, support and develop the accounts payable team, and partner closely with Accounting, and other departments across the organization.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who takes pride in accurate, efficient AP operations, values collaboration, and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

Lead Accounts Payable Operations

  • Oversee the full accounts payable lifecycle, from invoice receipt and coding through approvals and payment processing
  • Review and approve invoices and payment runs, including ACH, checks, wires, and credit cards
  • Ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with payment terms and internal policies
  • Troubleshoot invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and vendor inquiries
  • Oversee the travel and entertainment (T&E) system, including setup, maintenance, and user support
  • Support AP/AR offsets, funding needs, credit card variance analysis, and refund processing
  • Oversee vendor setup and maintenance, including W-9 collection and 1099 reporting support

Manage & Support the AP Team

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and training to the Accounts Payable team
  • Prioritize workloads and keep work moving during peak periods
  • Support employee development through coaching, feedback, and knowledge sharing
  • Ensure established procedures and controls are consistently followed

Compliance, Reporting & Close

  • Maintain strong internal controls and accurate audit trails
  • Support internal and external audits related to Accounts Payable
  • Prepare and review AP aging and related reports
  • Assist with month-end close activities and reconciliations
  • Proactively identify and escalate risks, issues, or unusual trends

Improve & Collaborate

  • Identify opportunities to improve AP efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve issues and streamline workflows
  • Support system upgrades and process-improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • 8–10 years of progressive Accounts Payable experience
  • At least 5 years of recent, continuous experience directly managing Accounts Payable staff
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle AP processes and internal controls
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a high-volume or multi-entity environment
  • Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, Sage, or similar systems
  • Experience supporting audits or compliance initiatives

Skills & Style

  • Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to accuracy
  • Organized and able to juggle multiple priorities
  • Calm, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
  • Clear and professional communicator
  • Collaborative, hands-on leadership style

What It’s Like to Work Here

  • Hybrid work environment
  • Fast-paced but supportive team culture
  • Opportunities to make an impact and improve how things work
  • Peak workloads around close and audit cycles—but strong teamwork to get through them
