About the role

Edtech Account Executive | Zero Gravity | London-hybrid | £45k-£60k base, £76.5k-£102k OTE

Who Zero Gravity are

Zero Gravity is a tech platform connecting students from low-income backgrounds to university and career opportunities. Over 23,000 students have been supported into top universities to date. In April 2026 they launched an AI-powered tutor, already showing strong early engagement and attainment results, and have since won a government contract to scale it across the UK.

EQL Tech is Zero Gravity's exclusive recruitment partner for this search. All applications and enquiries for this role are handled by EQL Tech on Zero Gravity's behalf.

The role

Zero Gravity is bringing AI-powered tutoring into schools that have never had access to it, and it needs hunters who can build their own pipeline and then close it. This is a new-business sales role in a small, territory-based team led by a player-coach. You will own your patch: finding the schools and multi-academy trusts, booking the meetings, and taking deals from a cold conversation to a signature. These are direct, short-cycle sales to school leaders and trusts, not formal tenders.

Be clear-eyed about the first stretch: you are your own BDR. That means early-morning calls to headteachers, emails and LinkedIn, aiming for around four new-business meetings a week, then taking those conversations through discovery, demo, proposal and close. In return you get a product schools want more of once they try it, and you are one of the first four reps on the team. A single school deal can grow into a trust deal that opens up dozens of schools.

This is a product schools have not heard of yet, not an established brand with a diary filled by inbound. If you have only sold well-known products to warm leads, this will feel very different. If you want to build the market, it is a rare chance.

It is also an unusual sell. The product genuinely changes outcomes for young people, so you win on trust rather than pressure. What you hear in schools feeds straight back into the product and how Zero Gravity goes to market.

Mission comes before everything else. A headteacher reads in seconds whether a rep believes in what a school stands to gain, and it shows up in the numbers within a quarter. That conviction carries equal weight with sales track record. It is not a tie-breaker.

What you'll actually be doing

  • Building your own pipeline from the first week: researching your territory, cold calling early, emailing, using LinkedIn, and booking around four new-business meetings a week
  • Running full-cycle deals (discovery, demo, follow-up and close) and not letting any go stale in the gaps
  • Leading each sales conversation yourself: setting the agenda, keeping to time and steering it back when it drifts
  • Growing a single school relationship into a multi-academy trust or local-authority deal
  • Working alongside the lead for education partnerships, who is a player-coach, and a small team of reps sharing the patch
  • Using the automated sales tooling to keep follow-ups, one-pagers and decks consistent, so your time goes into the relationships that need a human
  • Bringing what you hear from teachers and school leaders back into product and marketing

Where you will be

Central London, 3 days a week in the office, with regular in-person school visits across the rest of the week, some of them long day trips.

Interview process

  2. A task and in-person session with the Zero Gravity team, where you will lead a live sales conversation

Requirements

Who we're looking for

Non-negotiable

  • A record of carrying and hitting a new-business number, with most of your pipeline built by you, plus 2+ years of experience in quota-carrying new-business sales. We welcome enterprise sellers and high performers from any sector, not only EdTech.
  • Direct experience closing new-business deals yourself, from first conversation to signature, in a short sales cycle. Pre-sales, bid writing or tender-led work on its own is not the same thing.
  • Experience taking a product from a handful of logos to a repeatable sales motion
  • Experience using HubSpot, email, LinkedIn, demo software and pipeline management in a sales workflow

Strong signal, not a requirement

  • Genuine, demonstrable belief in the mission: closing the gap between talent and opportunity for young people the system has overlooked. We want to see what you have done about it, ideally over years, not just what you feel.
  • A structured sales methodology you actually use, such as MEDDPICC, and can explain in plain terms
  • Real, hands-on interest in what AI can and cannot yet do in a classroom. You can go three levels deeper than the marketing copy.
  • Experience selling into schools, MATs or local authorities, or time spent teaching or working inside a school
  • Having built a prospecting process, target list or playbook that others use

Benefits

Compensation, benefits & culture

  • £45,000-£60,000 base per year, £76,500 to £102,000 OTE
  • Central London, hybrid (3 days a week in the office) plus school visits
  • Share options - genuine ownership in the business, not a token gesture
  • Private healthcare, including dental and mental health support, plus gym discounts
  • An annual personal-development allowance to spend on your own growth
  • Equipment set up so you can do your best work from day one
  • Fortnightly team socials on the house, plus bigger quarterly events
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, with extra days off over the Christmas shutdown

Values aren't a poster on the wall here - they're what holds the team, members, partners, donors and investors together as one community, and it shows up in how decisions actually get made.
