Position Responsibilities
- Dust, sweep, and mop floors throughout the facility.
- Empty trash receptacles and maintain clean work areas.
- Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and other waste materials.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and break rooms.
- Clean microwaves, tables, chairs, countertops, fixtures, and other common areas.
- Clean interior glass, windows, and other surfaces as needed.
- Clean and maintain entryways, hallways, and floor mats.
- Operate and maintain basic janitorial equipment and supplies.
- Restock restroom and breakroom supplies as needed.
- Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent use of hands and arms to grasp, hold, push, pull, and operate cleaning equipment.
- Ability to climb stairs when necessary.
- Must have sufficient vision to safely perform cleaning duties and identify areas requiring attention.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and building occupants.
Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed indoors in office, commercial, or industrial facilities.
- Regular exposure to cleaning products and janitorial supplies.
- Moderate noise levels may be present depending on the work area.
- May work around employees, visitors, office equipment, and facility operations during normal business hours.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Good reading comprehension and ability to follow written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills with supervisors and coworkers.
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Commitment to workplace safety and company policies.
- Minimum 1-3 years of janitorial or commercial cleaning experience required.
- Reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience cleaning office buildings, commercial facilities, or industrial spaces.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning methods and sanitation practices.
- Experience using standard janitorial equipment, including vacuums, floor mops, and cleaning tools.
