Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

This role in summary

As the Lead System Integrator  for the Cooking Category, you will serve as the primary technical program leader and structural bridge between Business Units (BUs), engineering subsystems, and manufacturing execution. You will own the end-to-end technical execution of complex electro-mechanical platforms (built-in ovens, freestanding ranges, cooktops, and microwaves), driving multi-million dollar architectural refreshes from early-stage concept selection through to factory production validation.

Acting as the core integrator, you will manage cross-functional stakeholders across electronics, software, electrical, mechanical structures, quality, and procurement to deliver robust cooking products that delight consumers and achieve business target metrics (KPIs)

Your responsibilities will include

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Drive NPI Delivery: Oversee and execute New Product Introduction (NPI) projects following the WPD 2.0 framework, ensuring compliance with On Cost, On Time, and On Quality KPIs to meet Open to Ship (OTS) milestones.
  • Manage Technical Trade-offs: Evaluate system-level design, cost, quality, and time trade-offs for thermodynamics, gas/electric power delivery, and smart-appliance user interfaces within project guardrails.
  • Lead Design Reviews: Conduct technical design reviews alongside subsystem teams, V&V strategists, and architects to assess project alignment with architectural and product plans.
  • Own Product Validation: Formulate the Design Validation Plan & Report (DVP&R) and collaborate with the V&V team to ensure compliance with global safety standards, FMEAs, and regulatory codes (UL/CSA/DOE/ANSI).
  • Leverage Virtual Validation: Drive Virtual Product Development (VPD) for early-stage virtual testing, followed by physical verification through robust test plans for a flawless launch.
  • Optimize Performance & Claims: Partner with SMEs to secure product attribute leadership (+/-3 sigma distribution) and collaborate with marketing, product, and legal teams to validate product claims.
  • Manage Critical Parameters: Oversee Critical Parameters Measurement (CPMs) with Quality Leads, driving physical part measurement and documentation ahead of engineering builds.
  • Control EBOM Release: Ensure flawless creation, release, and strict management of Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOM) using internal PLM systems (Windchill/SAP) across all development phases.
  • Lead Engineering Builds: Own all engineering, development, and industrialization builds up to SOP; travel to manufacturing plants (Tulsa/Cleveland) for seamless integration.
  • Budget & Core Leadership: Manage project expenses and prototype budgets while representing engineering in cross-functional core team meetings and stage/gate reviews.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering).

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with proven track record for managing end-to-end product architecture development, complex subsystem interfaces, engineering project management, Technical design expertise and Systems engineering.

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Strong knowledge of cooking appliance architectures (gas combustion components, electrical /induction heating, thermal dynamics, or embedded camera/smart sensor integration).

  • Deep proficiency in systems engineering toolsets (DFMEA, Root Cause Analysis, tolerance stack-up tools, PPAP validation, and Opex-Six Sigma methodology).

  • Demonstrated leadership presence to push technical design and process issue lists to absolute closure with cross-functional stakeholders without direct reporting authority.

  • Comfort managing project engineering expenses, capital expenditure budgeting, and engineering spend forecasting.
