Short Description

Lead the planning and execution of surgical and procedural growth. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Surgical Services, the Director of Perioperative Logistics provides the operational leadership and expertise to translate growth priorities into executable plans for new and expanding surgical, ambulatory surgery, and procedural services. This role connects service line planning, Surgical and Procedural growth and operational feasibility, resource utilization, capital and instrumentation strategy, and activation readiness to move initiatives from concept through implementation.

Leading through cross-functional influence, this director aligns physicians, site and perioperative leaders, operating room (OR) teams, central sterile processing (CSP), finance, facilities, supply chain, quality, infection prevention, and information technology around shared growth priorities. The position drives coordinated execution by establishing implementation plans and readiness milestones, addressing operational barriers, and keeping senior leaders informed of progress, risks, and decisions needed. Accreditation readiness, quality, safety, and standardized workflows are integrated into growth planning and execution.

Overview:

  • Lead operational planning and execution for new and expanding surgical, ambulatory surgery, and procedural services, translating strategic priorities into coordinated development, readiness, and activation plans.
  • Guide service line growth planning through operational feasibility reviews, volume analyses, business cases, and pro formas that clarify resource needs and implementation considerations.
  • Bring multidisciplinary stakeholders together to align priorities, coordinate interdependent work, resolve operational barriers, and advance growth and expansion milestones.
  • Apply surgical and procedural operational expertise to improve patient flow, workflow design, room and resource utilization, and readiness to support increased volume and new services.
  • Align capital planning, equipment evaluation, replacement strategies, instrumentation readiness, ordering, and project purchasing with growth plans and activation timelines.
  • Lead policy and workflow standardization across sites to establish consistent operational practices for new and expanding services.
  • Integrate accreditation, regulatory, quality, and safety requirements into development and activation plans, including gap assessments, survey preparation, risk monitoring, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Strengthen OR/CSP integration to align instrument readiness, purchasing, capital needs, and procedural support with service expansion and operational priorities.
  • Drive implementation follow-through through clear plans, readiness milestones, and leadership updates that communicate progress, operational risks, and decisions needed to advance execution.

Overview

Cooper’s Voorhees and Moorestown Surgery Centers are hospital-run outpatient facilities that follow the same high clinical standards as Cooper’s main surgical facilities in Camden. The centers offer a variety of specialties, including general, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, vascular, interventional radiology, and other minimally invasive procedures. Supported by skilled surgical teams and advanced technology, care is designed to reduce pain and complications, promote faster recovery, and help patients return to their normal activities sooner.
