About the role

Ready to see how a great restaurant really runs? As a Food & Beverage Intern at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, you'll work in one of our dining outlets alongside our F&B Manager and Supervisor, learning the side of hospitality guests never see: how a shift gets set up, how a busy dinner service stays on track, and how the team pulls together to make every meal part of a trip of a lifetime. Whether you're studying hospitality or business or have recently graduated, this is your chance to get real, hands-on restaurant operations experience, with people who want to teach you and help you build a career in food and beverage.

This internship is for hospitality students and recent graduates. To be considered, you should be currently enrolled in a hospitality management (or related) degree program or have graduated from one within the past year.

About Bandon Dunes Golf Resort:
Bandon Dunes is a world-class golf resort located on the Oregon Coast near the charming community of Bandon. Guests come to experience golf as it was meant to be at Bandon Dunes' six distinct golf courses. That includes five 18-hole courses, which all rank among the top 16 public courses in the United States, according to Golf Digest. The resort is also home to two 'Courses with a Mission': Bandon Preserve, an award-winning par-3 course, and Shorty's, which opened in 2024. All net proceeds from both courses fund the Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation, supporting communities along the South Coast of Oregon.

Beyond premier golf, guests delight in various dining options at Bandon Dunes’ collection of restaurants. Whether you're looking to enjoy locally sourced, Pacific-Northwest cuisine accompanied by an award-winning wine list or prefer kicking back in a Scottish-style setting with traditional pub fare and local microbrews, there is something for everyone.

Working at Bandon Dunes is a dream for golf fans, outdoor enthusiasts, and hospitality professionals alike. The Bandon Dunes team works together to create trips of a lifetime for our guests. We are passionate stewards of our resort, community, and environment. As an endlessly curious group, we ask questions, share ideas, and always look for a better way. With a hard-working attitude, we help guide our guests through their pure golf experience, immersed in Oregon’s natural beauty and away from the demands of daily life.

What You'll Do:

  • Help keep service running smoothly. You'll support the F&B Manager and Supervisor during daily shifts, pitching in wherever the team needs you when the dining room gets busy. You'll see firsthand how the people running a shift keep service flowing and standards high.
  • Take care of our guests. You'll greet guests, handle requests, and help sort out concerns with a calm, professional touch. Many of our guests have planned this trip for years, and how their meal goes is a big part of how they remember it.
  • Learn how a restaurant opens and closes. You'll learn the routines behind every shift: setup, breakdown, cash handling, and securing the outlet at the end of the night.
  • Get behind the scenes of operations. You'll help track stock levels and supplies, assist with scheduling and shift coverage, and sit in on department meetings. Bring your ideas. We're always looking for a better way to do things.
  • Learn our wine and beverage program. Bandon Dunes is known for its award-winning wine list. You'll learn about our selections, proper wine service, and how beverages help shape the guest experience.
  • Help hold the line on quality. You'll keep an eye on service standards, food and beverage presentation, and cleanliness, and follow the policies and safety procedures that keep our guests and team safe.
  • What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • You want a career in food and beverage. Maybe you're studying hospitality, restaurant management, or business, or you've recently graduated. Restaurant or customer service experience helps, but it isn't required. What matters most is that you want to learn how restaurants run.
  • You're good with people. You communicate clearly with guests, teammates, and managers, and you enjoy making someone's experience a little better.
  • You stay steady when it gets busy. Service has its rushes. You can keep track of several things at once, stay calm, and notice the details that make a difference.
  • You're a good teammate. You work well with everyone on the team, help out when someone's in the weeds, and keep a positive, professional attitude.
  • You're open to feedback. You ask questions, take coaching well, and use what you learn to get better each shift. Comfort with basic computer tools helps; we'll teach you our POS system.
  • A Few Things to Know:

  • This is a seasonal internship. It's a hands-on learning position. You'll report to our F&B Manager and F&B Supervisor and won't supervise other employees.
  • Restaurants don't keep banker's hours. Expect a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • You'll be on the move. Expect to stand and walk for up to five hours at a time and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 30 lbs frequently. Most of the work is indoors, with some time on the patio, by the pool, and in on-course service, so be ready for Oregon Coast weather.
  • Food Handler card and OLCC certification. Don't have them yet? No problem. You'll get both within your first 30 days, and we'll help you through the process.
  • Perks and Benefits For Full Time Employees:

  • Free Golf Privileges: Tee off at some of the most iconic courses in the world with complimentary golf access.
  • Quarterly Incentives: When our team meets resort-wide performance goals, we get rewarded.
  • Complimentary Lunch: Stay energized with a complimentary lunch in our Staff Cafe during your shift.
  • Resort Discounts: Save on dining and merchandise throughout the resort.
  • Supportive Work Environment: Be part of a team that supports your growth and success, with opportunities to thrive in a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Career Growth: Take advantage of continuous training and development opportunities to advance your career.
  • If you love the energy of a busy dining room, enjoy taking care of people, and want to start your hospitality career somewhere special on the Oregon Coast, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and come learn with us at Bandon Dunes.
