Auto Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance and servicing of industrial machinery and vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.
• Maintain and repair forklifts, side loaders and shunter trucks.
• Carry out servicing and repairs on rigid trucks and trailers.
• Inspect machinery and equipment to identify potential mechanical issues.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all machinery and vehicles are maintained in a safe and operational condition.
• Carry out mechanical fitting and maintenance of industrial production equipment.
• Support the maintenance of automated processing lines, profiling machines and steel-bending machinery.
• Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
• Follow company health and safety procedures and ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely.
• Assist with general mechanical maintenance and improvement projects as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, heavy vehicle mechanics or a similar environment.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
• Experience working with forklifts, side loaders and/or shunter trucks.
• Experience with rigid trucks and trailers.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of preventative maintenance and servicing procedures.
• Experience with mechanical fitting and industrial machinery.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and manage maintenance requirements with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) is an essential requirement.
