Pearson

Apply

About the role

At Pearson, we’re helping educators identify student needs early, monitor growth, and make informed decisions about support. Within Pearson’s School Assessment organization, the Measurement & Learning team builds assessment experiences that help schools put multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) into practice.

We’re seeking a Specialist, Product Manager to lead the strategic expansion of our universal screening and progress monitoring measures and platform capabilities. You’ll own the MTSS product roadmap, guiding what we build, how we bring it to market, and how we help districts use it effectively. This role combines product strategy and delivery with hands-on commercialization, including RFP support, sales and implementation enablement, and training materials.

You’ll work with educators and district leaders, as well as partners across Psychometrics, Research, Content, Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Professional Learning, and Partner Success. Your goal is to make reliable assessment results easier to collect, understand, and use to support students.

This role aligns to industry level titles such as Product Manager, MTSS Assessments or Product Manager, Screening & Progress Monitoring

What You’ll Do

  • Own the MTSS roadmap. Set and communicate roadmap priorities. Connect investments in screening, progress monitoring, reporting, and related workflows into a coherent product direction.
  • Expand the assessment portfolio. Identify opportunities for new and improved screening and progress monitoring measures. Partner with psychometrics, research, and content teams to define needs, evaluate evidence, and bring measures to market.
  • Advance platform capabilities. Own priorities for administration, scoring, reporting, goal setting, and progress monitoring workflows. Translate educator needs into clear requirements and guide development through launch.
  • Understand MTSS decisions. Work directly with teachers, interventionists, school leaders, and district teams to understand how our products can improve their ability to conduct universal screening, identify students for support, monitor response to intervention, and adjust plans.
  • Set direction and make tradeoffs. Build and communicate a roadmap grounded in customer needs, assessment evidence, market opportunities, and business goals. Define success measures and make clear prioritization decisions.
  • Lead commercialization. Partner with Sales and Marketing on positioning, launches, demonstrations, and customer-facing materials. Provide product and assessment expertise for RFPs, state submissions, and other strategic opportunities.
  • Enable customer-facing teams. Create or guide clear product guidance and sales enablement materials. Partner with Professional Learning to ensure external training materials accurately explain assessment workflows, result interpretation, and effective use.
  • Measure and improve. Use product data, customer feedback, and research to assess adoption, identify gaps, and guide future investment.
