About the role

About Guru

AI is everywhere at work now, but it's only as good as the knowledge behind it. When that knowledge is scattered, outdated, or ungoverned, AI gives confident, wrong answers, and that's a real problem for companies trusting it with sensitive information. Guru fixes that at the foundation: we structure your company's knowledge, govern and continuously improve it, and power every AI and human workflow from one trusted source, with permissions and citations built in.

We're a Series C venture-backed company, built lean and AI-native on purpose. That means less bureaucracy and more room for you to make a real impact, fast.

We believe in cultivating a welcoming, inclusive culture that encourages personal growth through hard work and enjoying the journey along the way. Launched in September 2015, our vision is backed by an incredible group of investors, including FirstMark Capital, Salesforce, Michael Dell, the Slack Fund, Emergence Capital, Thrive Capital, and Accel. As we enter our next stage of growth, we're looking for passionate people to join us.

This is a full-time position that can be performed [Remotely and/or out of our Philadelphia] office. Re-location and/or Visa Sponsorship is not included in our hiring package. Applicants will need to be authorized to work in the US and residing in a state where Guru is a registered employer.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

All are welcome here. At Guru, being inclusive is very important to us. Regardless of race, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identification, or background.

We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us at [email protected] to request accommodation.

The Opportunity

Did you have to put down an actual, physical book to apply for this job? Were you the one editing everyone else's work on the college paper? Good. Keep reading.

Guru is looking for a Content Marketing Manager to tell the Guru story, turn our customers into thought leaders, and grow organic traffic through writing people want to read. You'll own the content calendar that powers our sales and marketing funnel, from the first keyword search to the case study that helps close the deal.

You'll write, edit, and publish across blog posts, landing pages, case studies, webinars, and video. You'll also decide what gets made, when it ships, and how we know it worked.

Why This Role Matters

AI is changing how teams find and trust information at work, and Guru sits at the center of that shift. Explaining that clearly is harder than it sounds. The market is crowded and full of noise, and the companies that win are the ones that tell a sharper story.

That's your job. The content you publish is often the first time someone hears about Guru, and the case studies you write are what help a buyer say yes. At a company our size, your work is visible across the business, and you'll see its impact in traffic, pipeline, and the way our customers talk about us.

What Makes You the Perfect Fit

You're a storyteller first

  • You take dense research, technical product details, or a rambling customer interview and turn it into something clear, concise, and worth sharing
  • You can write for a CFO, a support leader, and a search engine without sounding like you're writing for any of them
  • You're as strong an editor as you are a writer

You run content like a program

  • You plan ahead, keep a calendar full, and still make room for the timely piece nobody saw coming
  • You take a project from idea to published without someone chasing you for updates
  • You know which pieces performed, why, and what you'd do differently next time

You make your partners' work better

  • Product marketing, demand gen, design, and field marketing see you as the person who makes their campaigns land
  • You take feedback well, turn edits around quickly, and keep the work moving
  • You stay calm and keep quality high when deadlines stack up

What You'll Actually Do

Own the content calendar: Plan and manage a content calendar that supports every stage of Guru's sales and marketing funnel, balancing evergreen pieces with timely ones.

Create across formats: Produce short- and long-form content in written and video formats, including blog posts, landing pages, case studies, and webinars.

Drive organic growth: Perform keyword research and optimize new and existing content for SEO so the right people find Guru when they're searching for answers.

Scale with your partners: Work with product marketing, field marketing, design, and demand generation to expand how much content we produce and how far it travels.

Measure what works: Build and track KPIs that show how your content performs, and use what you learn to shape what comes next.

Showcase progress: Partner cross-functionally on joint initiatives that bring transparency to the work happening across the company.

The Perks of Being Exceptional

  • Flexible hybrid work: Monday-Friday, with the autonomy to manage your schedule
  • Travel with purpose: 3-4x per year for meaningful company events (not endless road warrior life)
  • True influence: Your insights shape product development and company strategy
  • Growth trajectory: This senior IC role is designed for those who want massive impact without the management overhead

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of total professional experience, including 2-4 years of copywriting, product marketing, or content marketing in a B2B company
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including editing the work of others
  • Demonstrated ability to distill complex research into clear, differentiated copy
  • Working knowledge of SEO and keyword research
  • Experience managing multiple projects and hitting deadlines
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience at a SaaS company, ideally in AI, knowledge management, or productivity tools
  • Experience producing or scripting video content
  • Familiarity with SEO and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Ahrefs, or Semrush

The annual salary compensation range for the position outlined is 115,000-155,000, depending on location. This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and is classified as IC3. We believe in reasonable accommodations and are committed to enabling qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions successfully.
