Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections,  where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

Welcome to our dynamic Global Medical Affairs organization, where cross-functional collaboration and patient-centric innovation drive everything we do. As part of the Affiliate Partnership Chapter, our team acts as the vital bridge between global strategy and local execution, shaping a consistent framework of collaboration, harmonizing affiliate partnerships, and standardizing medical excellence across Therapeutic Areas and Disease Areas (DAs) worldwide.

In the role of Global Medical Network Leader (GMNL) in Oncology Therapeutic Area, you will serve as a strategic medical partner and expert, acting as the primary voice and advocate for relevant affiliates within a assigned Disease Area. Deployed across DAs, you will lead end-to-end medical delivery, master knowledge exchange, refine working practices, and inspire new standards of excellence—empowering local medical teams to accelerate pipeline development, prepare for impactful product launches, and optimize healthcare delivery for patients.

The Opportunity

  • Represent & Partner End-to-End: Serve as the strategic medical partner and voice of relevant affiliates to global teams, catalyzing and providing hands-on support for the E2E planning and delivery of medical strategies, scientific engagement, and Disease Area lifecycle management (spanning pipeline acceleration, HCP and patient journey optimization, launch readiness, and eligible patient access).
  • Drive Insight-Driven Strategy: Bring local ecosystem perspectives into global planning by coordinating insight collection, aggregating medical questions, and translating feedback into strategic, actionable recommendations across stakeholder groups.
  • Provide Strategic Alignment & Impact Measurement: Deliver continuous leadership and direction to affiliates through alignment on key priorities, establishing quantitative and qualitative impact indicators, and mapping/securing necessary human and financial resources.
  • Cross-Functional Scientific Support: Provide expert medical data and insights to support Regulatory, Drug Safety, Health Economics/Market Access, Patient Partnership, and Public Policy strategies.
  • Foster Global Medical Networks: Build and maintain an active affiliate network to surface local clinical practice and access/reimbursement data gaps, directly informing integrated evidence strategies (IEP) and engaging directly with external healthcare stakeholders when appropriate.
  • Enable Affiliate Readiness: Partner with internal stakeholders to supply high-quality, continuous scientific training resources, advising local teams to ensure organizational readiness for pivotal data releases as well as medical and commercial launches.
  • Champion Innovation & Excellence: Drive the adoption of innovative tools and technologies aligned with the iCX strategy to enhance network connectivity, while demonstrating flexibility to adapt across DA, functional, or specialist topics based on business needs.

Who You Are

  • Education & Scientific Background: Medical Degree (MD) or Degree in Science, preferably complemented by a postgraduate degree (PharmD, PhD, or MSc), with deep scientific knowledge of the Disease Area preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Over 5 years of professional experience in pharma/biotech with a solid business understanding and hands-on Medical Affairs experience in an in-field or office-based enabler role (including medical scientific and strategic drug development, commercialization, and compliance); prior global/regional role experience or priority TA expertise is a plus. Understanding of Roche’s internal matrix, governance structures, and operating models is required.
  • Technical Expertise: Robust knowledge of drug development, lifecycle management, launch readiness, regulatory/approval trends, clinical trials, and external/internal patient communication.
  • Leadership & Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to develop and execute medical strategies, negotiate, influence, and coach in a highly matrixed environment, possessing a VACC leadership, entrepreneurial, and customer-centric mindset with strong cross-cultural connectivity. Senior level leadership with experience to navigate competing objectives, clarify priorities and influence complex matrix of stakeholders is a must.
  • Communication & Mobility: Fluent in written and spoken English (additional languages are a plus) and available to travel as needed.
