The position requires strong judgment, disciplined project management, and close coordination with clients, internal teams, regulatory authorities, legal advisers, and third-party service providers.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Independently manage a portfolio of voluntary liquidations, partnership dissolutions, strike-offs, foreign company cessations, mutual and private fund deregistration’s, Registered Person deregistration’s, and related entity termination matters.
  • Guide clients through each engagement by establishing requirements, timelines, responsibilities, dependencies, and expected deliverables.
  • Review constitutional documents, financial statements, transaction documents, statutory records, meeting minutes, and supporting information to assess readiness for termination.
  • Evaluate an entity’s financial position and determine whether it appears able to proceed with a solvent voluntary liquidation, escalating complex or uncertain matters appropriately.
  • Complete pre-engagement checks and confirm that internal acceptance, compliance, due diligence, regulatory, and billing requirements are satisfied before work begins.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate execution of resolutions, declarations, notices, regulatory forms, consents, final returns, and other statutory or transactional documents.
  • Submit required filings and publications to the Registrar of Companies, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, the Cayman Islands Gazette, and other relevant authorities accurately and within prescribed deadlines.
  • Track and coordinate residual FATCA, CRS, economic substance, audit, annual return, and related reporting obligations through the conclusion of each engagement.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, directors, shareholders, liquidators, attorneys, auditors, compliance teams, Finance, regulators, and third-party service providers.
  • Manage matters through completion, including final meetings and filings, collection of dissolution or deregistration evidence, closure of internal records, and delivery of final documentation to the client.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and current engagement records across relevant systems in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Monitor work in progress, fees, invoices, and receivables; coordinate with Finance to support timely billing, accurate revenue recognition, and collection of outstanding amounts.
  • Prioritize competing client requests, communicate risks or delays promptly, and provide clear status updates to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process improvements, knowledge sharing, quality control, and other team initiatives as assigned.

What technical skills, experience and qualifications do you need?

  • Relevant professional experience in corporate administration, fiduciary services, insolvency, investment funds, legal services, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Cayman Islands corporate and regulatory requirements affecting solvent liquidations, dissolutions, strike-offs, cessations, and regulated entity deregistration’s.
  • Experience reviewing financial information and corporate records, preparing statutory documentation, and managing deadline-driven filings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical processes clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use corporate administration, workflow, document management, and regulatory filing systems.
  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in law, accounting, finance, business, governance, compliance, or insolvency is preferred.
