About the role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our specialist cross-border Debt Issuer Services team in Hong Kong. This is a unique opportunity to work at the centre of complex, high-value Debt Capital Markets (DCM) transactions across Asia and global markets.

Working closely with investment banks, law firms and financial advisors, you will play a key role supporting liability management transactions, complex debt restructurings and operational consultancy across DCM deals. This role offers strong exposure to cross-border transactions, working alongside execution teams in Hong Kong, London and New York.

This position is ideally suited to someone who combines strong client engagement capability with hands-on transaction execution and operational ownership. While relationship management and business development are important, we are specifically seeking someone who is equally strong in project delivery, operational execution and end-to-end transaction management.

What you will be responsible for

Client & Commercial Focus

  • Support client coverage, new business origination and relationship development
  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of opportunities
  • Identify cross-sell and referral opportunities across regional and global teams
  • Maintain strong relationships with issuers, banks, law firms and advisors

Transaction Execution & Operational Delivery

  • Act as a core deal team member across liability management and restructuring transactions
  • Lead or support due diligence, structuring and documentation processes
  • Act as a key client contact during live transactions
  • Coordinate closely with operations teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously, delivering to tight deadlines
  • Support engagement with Central Securities Depositories, custodians and institutional investors
  • Review and negotiate standard DCM documentation
  • Support billing processes and ensure strong financial and operational controls

Cross-Border Collaboration

  • Work closely with teams across APAC, US and global offices
  • Support the execution of cross-border transactions and client delivery

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong working relationships across legal, risk, operations and commercial teams
  • Support team collaboration and knowledge sharing across regions

What we are looking for

  • Strong experience within Debt Capital Markets, particularly liability management and/or restructuring transactions
  • Solid understanding of DCM operational processes (tender offers, exchange offers, consent solicitations etc.)
  • Proven track record working across Asia (Europe and/or US exposure advantageous)
  • Strong balance of client engagement capability and transaction execution experience
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of processes and operational delivery
  • Strong commercial acumen and relationship management capability
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders including issuers, banks and law firms
  • Advanced Excel skills (including data manipulation such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP) advantageous
  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance or related discipline preferred)
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly to support live transactions

If you are looking to step into a role that combines client engagement, technical DCM expertise and true transaction ownership, we would welcome your application.
