Job Description*
Senior z/OS systems programmer with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience. The position provides technical support for multiple large scale z/OS parallel SYSPLEX environments running multi-tiered applications making heavy use of various vendor products. The functions of the position include technical guidance and advice to Data Center Operations, support teams, application developers and end users. Software implementation, maintenance, certification testing, development and documentation of operational procedures. Problem debugging and root cause analysis, interaction with software vendors. The group this position is part of provides 24x7 support for production systems and therefore will require some off-hours and weekend work.
Responsibilities*
The operating systems programmer role is instrumental in delivering key infrastructure initiatives, including ARC recovery and z16 server upgrades, as well as operating systems upgrades and security patching.
7+ years of experience as a system programmer and experience in providing technical support for Mainframe Services z/OS Platform Engineering and related IBM Z hardware support.
• SMPE -Configure SMPE,Order Software, Install Software.
• Assembler Programming - Analyze svcdump, logrec diagnostic data.
• zOSMF - Install software release upgrades using dialogs, Build software maintenance workflows.
• IBMLINK – Order software, Create IBM problem ticket, Research IBM software issues.
• RACF -Develop software security.
• SYSPLEX - Configure Coupling Facility policies.
• HMC -Configure server , Configure monitor server Ops (IPL Profiles), Configure HMC security.
• Debug Tools – Analyze diagnostic data.
• EREP - Analyze logrec diagnostic data.
• GTF – Capture diagnostic data.
• IPCS – Analyze scvdump diagnostic data.
• SLIP – Capture diagnostic datra.
• Rexx Programming - Develop, maintain system exits, utilities.

• Must have a strong understanding of IBM Mainframe z/OS operating system, control, structure, logic, security.
• Must possess working knowledge of IBM z/OS system and subsystem software and components with experience to support, develop and enhance tools and methodologies for managing large scale global deployment.
• Must be proficient with problem determination, analysis and resolution.
• Must have extensive understanding of IBM zEnterprise server hardware and facilities
• Must have strong knowledge and experience with SMP/E, JES2, JES3, .JCL, ISPF dialog management, REXX.
