Security Officer - Full Time/Part Time

Primary Location: Colorado Springs, CO/Fountain, CO

Open to residents of Manitou, Colorado Springs, and Fountain!

Wage: $16.80-17.17/HR

Graveyard Shift: Thurs-Sat: 4PM-12AM (Fountain, $17.17/HR)

Day Shift: Thurs-Sat: 8AM-4PM (Fountain, $17.17/HR)

Graveyard Shift/Mobile Patrol: 7PM-4AM(Colorado Springs-Downtown, $16.80/HR)

The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

What You Can Expect:

• Greet site visitors, client employee’s, client, and aid as needed.
• Conduct foot and/or mobile patrol and complete daily activity, and incident reports. 
• Ask unauthorized persons to leave the site or facility while maintaining a calm and professional composure.
• Exposure to critical incidents and direct emergency services as needed while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a safe distance from unpredictable incidents. 
• Maintain professional composure.
• Handles unique situations calmly.
• Protects evidence and scene of incidents. 
• Uses sound judgement during unique situations.
• Carries out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site. 
• Does not engage with or in acts involving violence or threats of violence.
• Remains at site for entirety of shift. 
• Monitors cameras, observes, and reports potential safety hazards.

Basic Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older. 
• High School Diploma or GED required. 
• I9 Documents readily available at time of interview or New Hire Orientation. 
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed. 
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations. 
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift. 
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation. 
• Appropriate I9 Identifications on hand at time of offer needed.
• Must be willing to travel 25-30 miles to and from work. 
• Strong interpersonal and situational awareness skills needed. 
• Must have Swing or Grave shift availability.
• Must have a strong work ethic and ability to work with a high needs community. 
• Must be willing to accept feedback and is open to communication. 
• Must be able to adhere to 15 minute, and lunch breaks.
• Successful candidate will be able to adhere to all security procedures and post order requirements.
• Reliable transportation to commute to and from facility needed.
• Must be able to obtain Colorado Springs Guard Card License ($117.00 out of pocket) and maintain it every year at the same cost. 
• Attendance is required for an in-person interview and new hire orientation if hired. 
• Colorado Driver's License required due to mobile patrol, unless applying in Fountain. 
• Interview in Colorado Springs.
• Attend New Hire Orientation following offer and background check approval in Colorado Springs.
• Background in Security, Law Enforcement and Military preferred.
