Overview

The Asia Pacific Regional Payments Product team is responsible for supporting the development, governance, delivery and commercialisation of payments solutions across the region. The portfolio includes domestic high-value and low-value payments, real-time payments, wires, payments on behalf of clients, virtual and reference account solutions, payroll, tax and utility payments, and payment transformation initiatives such as ISO 20022.

This role provides regional support to product managers across product launches, change governance, business and stakeholder readiness, product-risk routines, data analysis, commercialisation and client engagement. The successful candidate will help coordinate regional delivery across markets, promote consistency in requirements and implementation, and support the team for project portfolio, initiatives and product-governance responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Support Asia Pacific regional payment product managers with product launches, global rollouts, enhancements and business-as-usual product management across the regional payments portfolio.

Provide project and change-management support, including maintaining delivery plans, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks and issues, and coordinating regular working sessions with Technology, Operations, country product teams and other stakeholders.

Review and help finalise Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), working with accountable country teams to promote consistency, standardisation and reuse of requirements across Asia Pacific markets.

Coordinate product-launch intake and readiness activities across Global Payments Solutions and partner functions, including Global Treasury Management Operations (GTMO), Global Payment Operations (GPO), Technology, Risk, Compliance, Sales and Client Service.

Prepare and maintain product documentation, implementation materials, product guides, operating procedures and stakeholder-readiness artefacts; coordinate with partner teams to ensure their procedures and guides are updated for launch.

Support product-risk and governance routines, including data-quality reviews relating to sanctions, anti-money laundering, travel-rule requirements, regulatory-change processes, regional issue management, audit engagements and remediation tracking.

Assist with the ongoing management of applicable Single Process Inventories (SPIs), including governance routines, supporting evidence, performance and risk metrics and issue tracking.

Support client and deal engagements by developing product inputs for Requests for Proposal (RFPs), pitches, client discussions and bespoke payment solutions, including virtual account management, payments on behalf of clients, payroll, real-time payments and ISO 20022.

Analyse key business and product metrics, identify trends and prepare clear insights for management discussions and international payments business reviews.

Support product commercialisation by preparing marketing collateral, launch communications, regional product updates, newsletters, sales materials and client-facing content in partnership with Marketing and Sales teams.

Provide coordination and subject-matter support for ISO 20022 enquiries, regional enablement, client-migration communications and engagement across Asia Pacific.

Partner with Operations to identify manual processes and non-standard procedures, and assess technology-led automation or non-technology process improvements that reduce manual handling, operational risk and processing complexity.

Build effective relationships across regional and global Product, Sales, Relationship Management, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Marketing and country teams to accelerate decisions and resolve delivery or client issues.

Monitor relevant payment-market, regulatory and technology developments, and contribute regional insights and ideas to product strategy, roadmap and prioritisation discussions.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in product management, payments, transaction banking, financial services, consulting, project delivery or a related technology environment; applications from strong Analyst- or Associate-level candidates are welcomed.
  • Knowledge of payment products or payment infrastructure, with an interest in domestic clearing, wires, real-time payments, ISO 20022 and emerging payment capabilities.
  • Experience supporting product launches, technology delivery or change initiatives, including requirements documentation, milestone tracking, stakeholder coordination and readiness activities.
  • Ability to review detailed business requirements and identify opportunities for regional consistency, standardisation and process improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with product and business data, identify trends and translate findings into concise, decision-useful insights.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare product documentation, management updates, client materials and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A client-focused and commercial mindset, with the confidence to support deal teams, respond to product enquiries and contribute to practical client solutions.
  • Good organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain governance records and escalate risks, issues or dependencies promptly.
  • Ability to collaborate across countries and functions, influence without direct authority and work effectively with regional and global stakeholders.
  • A proactive, accountable and curious approach, with a willingness to learn complex products, systems, operational processes and risk requirements.
  • Exposure to Asia Pacific payment clearing systems, virtual account management, payments on behalf of clients, payroll, tax and utility payments, sanctions or anti-money laundering controls would be an advantage but is not essential.
