Assistant Professor: Genotypes to Phenotypes
About the role
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Department of Biology at Colorado State University invites applications for at least one tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek creative, collaborative biologists working in any multicellular eukaryotic system (model species and/or natural populations) whose research investigates how genetic variation gives rise to phenotypes in areas such as functional genomics, evolutionary genomics, quantitative and statistical genetics, and computational and systems biology.
We welcome experimental, computational, and statistical genetic approaches, from genome-wide association tests, genome editing, functional screens, and single-cell and multi-omic profiling to machine learning and sequence-based language models. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research elucidates the effects of complex genotype-environment interactions on phenotypic variation that affects organismal function, fitness, and interactions with the environment.
Work authorization visa sponsorship may be available based on the specific situation, including cost, for the selected final candidate.
Applications completed by November 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. MST, will receive full consideration, but applications may be accepted after this date until the position is filled.
